I got my m11x a few weeks ago. My 30 day cool down period shouldn't have expired yet assuming it starts when you receive your m11. Mine was delivered on the 14th of may I have a few days left to decide whether its worth it to return and get the refreshed version. Is it worth it? Do I have to give any sort of excuse when I go to return it or can I just tell them i want the updated version?

You are always entitled to return your laptop and once you tell them you want the refreshed version, they won't charge you for the restocking fee. However, expect to pay more $ since refresh obviously costs more.

Do not delay if you decide you want to return... 1 day past and they do not have to do it. Also keep in mind, typically the policy is date of invoice - not delivery date. Call them.

well if its from date of invoice i might be 1 or 2 days past the cooldown is there a possibility of them being lenient with the return still or should i not even bother?

I suggest calling. They made an excepton for my circumstances, but don't delay.

I think the 21 day return policy starts from the day they ship out your order.

Call and say you are still waiting for the return label you had previously requested. Say you are calling because you thought the person you talked to didn't seem to know what they were talking about.
"OMG what do you mean you have no record of my call?"

Did they charge you a restocking fee, for your old m11x?

In NZ, it's from the day you are invoiced.

Is it worth it for the hassle? I mean how much of an 'improvement' will we be seeing in the R2's

You can really only wait and see, most guesstimates right now say the i5 will be about even with the OC'ed SU7300 while the i7 should be 10-20% faster.

In reality the GPU is still gonna be the hindering piece of hardware for most games, it is not like you gonna get a slightly faster CPU and suddenly double your FPS and be able to play everything on ultra. We are talking a few seconds faster loading or a few FPS max.

From what I have seen on M11xR1 reviews, they tend to agree that the SU7300 is the bottleneck on this unit when playing 3D games. The question of how much improvement is hard to tell, you have to wait until people get their hand on it or review website.
