    I wanted to get an external bd-rom for the m11x-r2, any advice? I would like to use it to watch blu-ray movies (no bd burning). Small size is important. Decent bd playing bundled software and/or good price is a plus. Thanks a lot.

    PS. Would also consider using a slim enclosure + bd-rom if anyone is using that setup.

    I use the asus bd-rom, purchased from fry's with my m11x. It comes with version 9 of powerdvd.

    I purchased TMT platinum and it is better in my opinion than powerDVD. Free updates and most movies play without issue.

    Best Wishes, StevenX

    More info and screen shots if you SEARCH for BD-Rom or Blu-Ray.

    Looks great. I'll probably check out fry's or maybe even amazon (no tax). I'll be able to use this on my desktop as well so great. Thanks everyone.

    PS. Any advice I you guys could share on m11/asus external playing blu-ray's to 1080p TV would be great i.e. are there HDCP issues with HDMI?or just use VGA etc.? Maybe I'm not searching right but I can't seem to find any other recent threads on this. Thanks again.

    Must use HDMI. I don't know about Displayport.

    HDCP = the reason why.
