I've got the exact same drive and I made a video walkthrough of the SSD upgrade. If you can wait, I'll edit it and upload the video by Tuesday. Hope it'll help.

    - boot with stock hdd
    - launch alien respawn
    - create a restore media (USB drive)
    - once you have it, turn Pc off
    - take stock HDD out, install SSD
    - stick in restore USB
    - Boot from USB and restore onto SSD

    Quite simple.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I just wanted to say I upgraded my M11x to an SSD yesterday and it was really easy.

I had a hard drive USB enclosure lying around so I put the SSD into that, connected it to the M11x. In computer management set up the MBR on the hard drive (Windows doesn't see it otherwise). Then I used the disk clone tool of Acronis True Image Home and it just copied everything to the SDD. Then I switched the hard drives in the laptop and it booted without any problems.

Might not have had to create the MBR first, Acronis might be able to do that itself. I was just worried that I couldn't see it appear in the drive list in Computer until I did that.
