Alright, this will be a list of all posting users stable i5 overclock speeds. Heres what we got:

    n.czar - 160 Stable through Diagnostics/General Usage

chunki - 162 Stable General Usage

    tassadar898 - 164 Stable wPrime 15h

    (original)
I have been playing with my new r2 a lot, trying to get power usage down, just started playing with overclocking but I can't get it past the 160mhz mark, anyone else have this going on? Once I put it in 162 it won't memtest right in the diagnostics, constant fails. If I put it in 166 it won't boot without resetting the bios, bunk ram maybe?

    Hi,

I set mine to 162 3 days ago , so far so good , it seems to be running fine. I also installed the intel turbo boost graph and I see it frequently shoot up to the 2.2 to 2.3ghz range so far. Once they fix the Nvidia problem this will be an awesome little machine..

Have you tried running the diagnostics at the boot? Would you mind trying that and telling me if you pass through fine? I have TurboBoost disabled, what graph are you using?

I think this could be a dedicated thread only for reporting the OC on the i5 and i7. You could list all the the stable BCLK per user in the first post. We would start to see a interesting distribution after a while.

Should I maybe report this to Dell and try to get some new sticks? Could it maybe be the processor?

Mackan, I will post peoples stable clock speeds in first thread, thanks for the suggestion.

They aren't going to replace parts because it won't OC all the way, sorry. Likewise, it doesn't mean the parts are faulty. It never hearts to run the diagnostic tests, though.

I guess I am just spending too much time finding the faults and not enjoying the sweet new toy I have.

    Hi,

I have my turbo boost enabled and I'm using the desktop gadget Intel boost meter. It didn't come installed with the M11 but I downloaded it...will try and run a diagnostic at the boot in the morning but 162 seems stabled for me, I tried 166 but that didn't work.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how exactly do you overclock?

Through the bios (F2 at boot), in advanced settings there is an option called overclocking.
