I believe mine is the same, but I only noticed it after reading this thread. My right arrow key and left ctrl key seem to be raised more than other keys as well.

Personally, I've only had bad experiences with technicians dell sends out.

Have you tried to remove the keyboard and verify the wireless leads and display cable are properly seated. On occasion they are not seated completely in their route channel along the palm rest cover piece. This can cause the keyboard to bulge a bit.

Steps on removing and verifying can be found here -

    Documentation

REMEMBER, be careful with the bottom plate screws. They can easily strip if over tightened.

Keyboard is VERY simply to remove. Great starting point for beginners to be taking apart their system.

I would also check to see if the wiring is tucked properly.

I have the bulge on the left, but I also have a replacement system coming Tuesday for other reasons - otherwise I'd take this one apart and check on that.

same thing with R2 keyboard...the middle screw doesn't have a spacer and pulls the keyboard down.

i removed the keyboard and put a folded piece of duct tape underneath the keyboard next to where the middle screw goes. Also don't over tighten that screw when putting it back together. Problem fixed!

don't bother getting dell to replace/fix cause the problem will appear again

as for the sides maybe keyboard wasn't seated properly? just gently push it down till it clicks in.

Fixed this today, while installing an ssd. Looks good now. Side note: I had multiple screws that were stripped. I had to use loctite and an allen key to remove them. I'm not too excited with Dell's quality control.

Why can't dell fix this before shipping it out. QC is definitely the issue here because of Delienware. I miss the real Alienware before Dell acquired them.

Well dell agreed to send me a new one instead. Hear is the image to help you of what I am talking about. Though it is not as clearly visible in picture but you can make out that there is a bulge on the left hand side of the keyboard specially around keys A,S,D and keyboard is little sunk in middle around keys G and H.

Yeah its not that noticeable in picture but if you look it in person you can very well see it is not flat. and when you close the laptop all those keys leaves marks on screen.

That issue (I dunno if it's even an issue) has been with m11x since r1/r2 and most of the users are experiencing it. They just wipe the vertical marks with microfiber cloth or they put some kind of mousepad or that default white cloth that came wth the m11x on top of the keyboard when closing the lid.

From what I've heard around here, it may just have been installed wrong to begin with. Anyway, that would bug me too. Putting up with low quality is not necessarily acceptable nor should be expected because it's a 'minor' issue; glad you're getting a new keyboard. I don't think it's ocd at all. ;)

there's a screw behind these button G & H, I think the main cause of this problem is this screw, it's so tight.

I have the same problem and the only concern is that the contact with the screen will eventually leave permanent marks. The screen is plastic.
I guess I have another concern. I think I can do at least as good a job as any technician, but will the warranty be voided if I fix this myself?
