I have r2 with i7 and 4 gig ram. running the 258.96 drivers.

optimal setting is "very high" and the game does not look that good.

when I look at the nvidia cpu meter on i see one core is in use.

will this baby ever run direct x 11?

has someone been able to use ultra settings?

You're posting on the wrong forum. The problem that you are mentioning is a problem with the LOTRO game, and not with the Alienware M11x hardware.

Try posting on the LOTRO forums, and see what they say.

The graphics in LOTRO isn't that great. It's the game's fault. I have played it on my i7 m11x too.

    ...

Ummm, I think you are missing the point.

The problem is with the LOTRO game.... it is not with the Alienware M11x hardware, or any hardware for that matter. Any computer you use, regardless of hardware configuration, won't somehow magically make the game look "better".

I have LOTRO set to max settings and it runs fine. I get over 30fps out and about, not been to a town yet so would expect it to drop down there.
On lower settings I have played this on my mini 311 which is an ATOM cpu!

DDO which is similar also I run on max settings. I get > 60fps in instances 25-30 in the main city.

The 335M supports DX10 but will not support DX11 afaik.

He's not saying that performance is bad - he's saying that the game's graphics look bad in his opinion.

If it was a framerate issue, then hardware would play a role. But as far as graphics quality goes - that's entirely affected by the game itself, and not the hardware that runs it.

Iv played Lotro alot, I like it cause it has in game voice chat built into lotros software. At any rate Iv always enjoyed the beatifull scenery that lotro has given me. Maybee the only way to truly aprecite it is to crank up dx10 in there system spesifications in lotro game and buy a 30 inch ips panel to add some color and hook that up to the m11x. Most people have always enjoyed the graphics that lotro has given them. Granted its starting to become an older game, but its polished. Check pchardwarehelp.com for all the latest ips monitors if you wana go there.

maybe i have low standard :)

but i think the graphic set to high looks great for a 3 year old game (DX10)

the game looks great on very high settings on my other desktop with a 8800gt.

monitor on desktop just rocks dell 2407wfp.

on m11x looks blah and ultra high too slow for me.
