I'm thinking about buying the Netgear WNDR3700 Wireless-N router because of the UPnP and ReadyDLNA features.
Newegg.com - NETGEAR WNDR3700-100NAS IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 Rangemax Simultaneous Dual Band Wireless Gigabit Router - Premium Edition

The router is a dual band router (emitting 2.5ghz/5ghz). But I'm a little confused about something..

1.)The wireless card is an N on the m11x, but my brother's is a G. I understand they will both work, however will the router emit 5ghz for my m11x, and 2.5ghz to his laptop?

2.) Also, is the m11x able to receive 5ghz-compatible? If so, what makes this possible? Is it because of the wireless-N mimo card?

3.)How far, in your house (because of walls), can the 5ghz emit on average?

    Thanks a bunch!

I use the WNDR3300 which is also dual band. I've set mine to do N at5 Ghz ang B/G at 2.6Ghz.

My M11x connects on the 5Ghz portion of the wireless network.

    Hope that helps

Awesome! Thank you for your swift reply Rhodan.

Did you set it to 2.6ghz on purpose to circumvent microwaves/phones/cellphone signals that may interrupt, rather than 2.5ghz?

How far, in your house (because of walls), can the 5ghz emit on average?

    Thanks a lot

Question - which wifi card is in the M11x R2? On the support website they list the 6200, 6250 and the 1520! Thanks!

Is this what you're talking about?

Yeah, I don't know which of those 3 drivers to download and install for my newly installed windows....

If anyone knows that'd be great. :)

For the R2, I think it comes with Dell 1520 card (or mine did anyway)

Dell 1520 in my R2. Pop the bottom cover off and you'll be able to tell whatever you have. IIRC, it's between the HD and memory banks.
