Wow, I do not have a R1, but I have to applaud work like this. R1 owners have been hungry for this for a while.

    Cheers! +Rep

Thank you very much. I have a problem here.
While installing the driver, my screen went blank (but the laptop was still running). I had to press the power button to shutdown (normal shutdown). Then I turned the laptop on again, the screen went blank at login screen.

    Cool bananas.

I've got the Nautis 260.63 driver set, before Nautis was abducted by Aliens and vanished.

Or maybe he's just off world at the moment.

I reinstalled Windows and installed the driver successfully. After restarting, I try to switch graphics and when it was on intel chip, there was a "GfxUI.exe" missing error box.

will try to look into it as to why you didnt get the GfxUI.exe file.

meanwhile browse to where you extracted the driver i uploaded from mediafire...and go inside display.driver, get GfxUI.exe there and paste it in C:\windows\system32

Ill test on a different partition whether ill encounter that problem on a freshly installed windows.

How was the driver? are you able to switch smoothly? and how about performance?

EDIT : i tested on a freshly formatted machine and the drivers are installing properly, i wonder why it didnt copy GfxUi.exe in your attempt.

I tried to manually copy the GfxUI.exe file to system32 but it would not run.
When installing the driver, I used Express mode, was that correct?

I have no game on the laptop yet, trying to install drivers first :| .

Yea, I can switch between modes smoothly (there is only the gfxui.exe error). This is what I did:
    1. Installed driver the 1st time using Express mode. (then restarted and got error)
    2. Uninstalled the driver using Control Panel. Then restart, then restart again (windows installed default driver).

    3. Installed driver the 2nd time using Express mode. (then restarted and got error again)
    4. Same as 2.

    5. Installed driver the 3rd time using Custom mode without cleaning. (then restarted and got error again)
    6. Same as 2

    7. Installed driver the 1st time using Custom mode without cleaning. (then restarted and got error again)
    8. Stuck...

I'm getting the same error. Did a clean install, rebooted, tried to switch to discrete mode and it did switch, only the error box appeared. Tried to manually copy Gfxui in system 32 and now it switches but I get the "gfxui.exe stopped working" error. Apart from the error messages everything seems to work fine though - weird.

Confirmed - It does give the missing file error. However, everything else does seem to be working properly. Thanks for the hybrid drivers.

    This may help the issue:
I copied the GfxUI.exe, and the GfxUI.exe.config over and still got the same error. Then I copied, the Gfxres.en-US.resources file and I didnt get an error. The tray icon popped up and i was able to launch the menu. As soon as I attempted to select something inside the menu, it crashed. So my guess is that its not copying all of the required dlls or other resources into the system folder. It would appear that we have a ton of files to choose from in the hybrid drivers folder. Any guesses on which files we need to manually copy over?

i reformatted my m11x and i encountered the problems you are encountering....but i found out that disabling the intel graphics in the device manager just before i run the installation fixes the problem, i will upload an updated package that i used. Thanks for the patience, just wanting to help fellow R1 users.

i modified the INF a bit and please make sure the intel graphics is marked as disabled in device manager (do not uninstall it).

will upload new package in a while, refer to page 1 for updates.

Hey guys, if anyone wants an alternative to the test mode, there is also a program called readydriver plus, that automatically disables the signature checks at boot. It can be found here:

I reformatted my m11x and was only able to reproduce the blackscreen error, hence i fixed it, the gfxui error never happened to me, and i was unable to reproduce it, will reformat my machine and test different scenarios to reproduce that error, will only be able to solve it if ican replicate it. Any one can upload screenshot of the gfxui error here?

Wait you are all using X64 Win7 right?

Before installation also check in device manager , under display adapters, there must be intel and then "Standard graphics adapter" and then disable intel from within device manager

This is exactly what I did (Graphic mode is Switchable all the time):
    1. Format and reinstall Windows 7 64bit.
    2. Disable UAC & System Restore.
    3. Install Chipset driver. Restart
    4. Install OSD Application. Restart
    5. Disable Intel Graphics in Device Manager (Yes, I also saw the Standard Graphics Adapter with a warning sign)
    6. Run Download Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider and Enable Test Mode. Restart.
    7. Run setup.exe from your new driver package. Select Custom mode, select all Graphics Driver, HD Audio, PhysX (did not select the "clean install" option). Restart after installing.
    8. After restarting, it was in nVIDIA high performance mode, press Fn+F6, it changed to the Intel one together with the error box (Had tray icon running).
    GfxUI.exe error

Off topic: I am a 2-day-M11xR1-owner, my M11xR1 is louder than the M17x (normal usage or idle); the temps, they are fine (CPU 42C, 36C each core) but the fan is always on. Is it because I am using BIOS A04?

if you have the time may we test it so that enabling test mode is the last step? after disabling intel in device manager install the driver and make it so that the last step will be enabling test mode,

hope to hear from you soon.

switch back to "switchable" , then go to safe mode, disable intel, boot normally, you will notice the low resolution, dont enable intel yet in device manager, then run setup.exe from the installer uploaded here.

I did what you told me to, step 5 then step 7 (in this step it did not require a restart but I restarted anyway; after restarting it was in low res mode) then step 6. After that, I still got to step 8 :(.

P.S.: Does your M11x get its fan run all the time?

    Hi mate,

New owner of a R1 here. I am interested in trying out your drivers (thank you by the way) but I am slightly concerned about running Win 7 in testing mode. What sort of risks are there (if any)?

    Cheers :)

try making the file enabled to read and execute in Permisions and also have it running like Admin. The issue seems to be security related, not just a graphic error.

This thing can also pop up with improperly installed .NET Frameworks.

    Thanks! Got these working.

Running A05, 4gbs of RAM, Phoenix Pro 120GB SSD, stock alienware x64 win 7 setup.

Your steps for the most part worked - though my setup was a bit different I suppose.

I didn't read that you said to uninstall the old drivers FIRST. I disabled in control panel, went into test mode, reboot, installed new driver, reboot - got the black screen.

Went into safe mode, removed all drivers, rebooted - got low res ugly screen (obviously - there was no enhanced driver software installed because of my uninstallation and reboot).

On that reboot - it installed drivers on its, i rebooted after the auto install of what I assumed was stock drivers. Turned out that after that reboot - it had auto installed the latest 260.99 and Intel driver, and it's switchable.

    Thanks!

I somewhat messed up my system with this, not sure what I did wrong..

I saw the Intel GS45 Chipset and the Standart VGA Videocard in the Videocard category in device manager, so I deactivated the Chipset. When I tried to install it, I got blackscreen after I had to confirm to install non signed drivers.

    Thanks in advance.

Now after endless switching from switchable to discrete to have the intel show up in device manager again, windows installed intel drivers again but when running your setup it doesn't finish installing and states "Error" as for the Graphic driver and "Not installed" for the PhysX (
