    Guys,

Just wondering if anyone here with an r1 uses discrete only mode and how the battery life is when they are non-gaming. I tested out my battery life today and it was around 6 hours of life on integrated Intel. Im thinking bout just axing that and just going discrete only mode. This way I can get the latest nvidia drivers to my liking. But I was seeing if anyone knew how much of a cut in battery life would be in discrete mode. I saw all the reviews of battery life when gaming (around 2 hrs) yet in normal use; browsing the web, movies, etc. How long do you think the discrete would last?? 4hrs?? 3hrs??

Much appreciated if anyone has the answer here..

If not Ill test it out tomorrow night and follow up here.

    Thank you.

In Discrete Mode, Im getting about 5hrs to 5hrs30min max.
Integrated im getting just about 6 hours to 6hrs 30 mins max.

of course if I turn off many things, LED lighting, very low brightness, then I might get more...

In Discrete Mode, with processor set to 1.3 GhZ stock, brightness at the lowest settings, alien FX off, and Alien Fusion set to Power Saver, my screen read about 5-6 hours remaining. I also disconnected any external USB devices. I haven't left it running straight for a full discharge, but at 4 hours uptime, the meter said I had about 40% battery life left. Once Windows told me I had "8 hours" battery life left lol didn't believe that though. It's not like there's a nuclear pile in there.

the overclock will not affect battery life, instead will increase as it drops the vcore to 0.900 ... with speed step it will be from 0.900 to 1.1, so if you have a solid over like i do .. theres no need to disable it.
