    Hey guys.

I want to sell this m11x soon to my friend and upgrade, but first I need to fix these problems I have been living with for a while.

    Problem 1

Close lid, won't sleep. Press power button, won't sleep. Start menu, can't click sleep or hibernate. Great...

    Problem 2

When it had the ability to sleep, I would close the lid and it would sleep. I would open it, computer turns back on, screen stays black.

How do I fix these? My warranty expired and their customer service is awful so im relying on you guys! :)

Have you checked your power settings? If they are incorrectly set it may explain both your issues.

I mean actually going into the plan settings and customizing them. You say it won't sleep when you close the lid or press the power button? There's an option for that. Screen stays black? If the timer turned the screen off, then there's an option for that too. Like i said, if they haven't been customized/set correctly it can explain all of your issues.

I physically cannot put it in sleep, the option to do so is greyed-out. Also, my resolution stayed the same and the zoom is 100% like always but my screen got like, widescreen and blurry looking. Just went through advanced settings, still can't put it into sleep. Lid close does nothing even though I want it to sleep. When it DID sleep, the screen would never turn back on and I'd have to hard restart. This machine is killing me...

Solved - Switched graphics from SWITCHABLE to DISCRETE. Now it is fine
