    Heya...

First post here.. couldn't find the answer by using search nor google, so here it goes:

I got my m11x 2 weeks ago and didn't have much time to use it, but I managed to play some WoW and Doom 3 flawlessly (yea.. I still love doom3 xD). I wrote some web applications on visual studio 2010, and worked a bit with game programming using XNA, and stuff like that. m11x works perfectly for all that stuff... Well... 2 days ago I installed windows live messenger and all hell broke loose.

It works fine too, until try to put an emoticon on the screen...

NO IDEA why thats happening... if there is 1 emoticon on the conversation the window becomes choppy... 2 emoticons it becomes choppy² and if i have the courage to put 3 emoticons on the screen it becomes unusable.

how could a bloody emoticon slow down a system that even WoW couldn't (even when trying hard to achieve that xD).

I'm going to try a fresh windows 7 installation without using recovery from alienware, cuz I want to try the m11x without the gazillion useless apps that comes with it, and see if it fixes the problem, but meanwhile, does anyone know what can be happening?

It might have just been a buggy install of Messenger. But that is really weird

It might not have installed properly. Do try the fresh install of Windows 7, it made my system a little faster. And then reinstall Windows Live Messenger.

yeah... i'm gonna try that and post the result... but how could that not be installed properly? its next>next>finish!

well.. anyway... good to see that it's really weird... i would feel too noob otherwise. xD.

I have even whitelisted the messenger .exe to see if it would work but meh... xD

gonna do a fresh install in a few hours and see if it fixes that issue...

As to how it becomes a bugged install... any single character of the code that was lost during download or wasnt properly unpacked by the installer or any number of reasons.

I dont know enough about code to actually give a good answer, but the long and short of it is, sometimes it just happens

are you using the integrated graphics or dedicated? could be a driver issue of some sort. or it could be a bad install of live messenger. you could uninstall and reinstall messenger and try running as administrator

    Heya,

Well.. I did a fresh install of windows 7... installed all my stuff back and made all the windows updates. Now my msn can handle more emoticons at once, like 10 or 12 before start to become slow. it's nothing compared to my desktop, but i think that will do... sad thing is that im really pissed to see my new computer being beaten by msn messenger...

this is going to be that Intel HD fault for sure... well... I'm not going to worry too much about that anymore since my games and work stuff are working ok and i could get some improvement on this issue... the other sad thing is that i lost that cool wallpaper on the login screen, and now I have to look to that emo windows blue stuff... but... we cant always win.

thanks for every answer and your time, and sorry for my bad english btw.
