Ok so I bought the alienware m11x r2 and when I got home I decided to test a game in this machine! I installed Dead Space but then for my disapointment the game was runing sloppy and lagging with the options in high settings and v-sync off..

Any tips for prepare this for gaming? Am I missing something? I wanna run games like the rest of the owners of this laptop, ive seen members posting videos of their performance playing dead space and the game was running so smooth!

    Thanks.

Whitelist tells the machine to use the Nvidia card instead of the Intel. You do it through the Nvidia control panel. Do a search for it and you will find out some good instructions.

I'm assuming you're using the stock Dell driver, since you just bought your alienware. I don't claim this driver is *bad* necessarily, but I have tested Dead Space 1 a little bit on the 260.99 nvidia driver, and it didn't give me any trouble whatsoever.... in fact the game ran at 80 FPS constantly, with all settings high and v-sync off.

I've been too busy at work to really give this game a good multi-hour test to make sure that it doesn't freeze, so I can't say for certain that it's immune... but I did get through the tutorial part with no issues whatsoever.

Thanks you so much! I whitelisted the game and uptadate de nvidea driver and the game is running so smooth and the graphics are so cool! I just tested for 10 minutes or so.. cant say much.. one thing that I came across was when I started to play the fan started to make a bit of loud noise.. I dont know if thats normal or not.. That happens to you too or is just me?
Other thing that is bodering me is that the keyboard is not match with the keys.. for example if I press plus the number nine it doesnt write "(" it writes ")" and is this with all of the keys they dont match!
I dont know if this issue is in the right section.. if its not im sorry then.
    Thanks.

awesome! Glad you got it working! I enjoy Dead Space a lot, although playing it alone at night tends to creep me out a bit.

and as you said, I've heard my fan come on several times too... it's not very noticeable if you get yourself a good set of headphones or crank your volume up :D
