FYI, there is a coupon out there valid until May 13th I think, that I just verified will work for the m11x r3.
FHRRHN2JSKLHDL
This code should give you $350 off any m11x configured to $1459 or greater.
I'm still on the fence between this and the m14x, but $350 off is a big deal.

Does the coupon work on any AW or just the m11x?
-

It specifies just the m11x. The only other coupons I saw were a similar discount for a m15x, and a $50 off coupon for anything (which everyone should use). -
I was not able to use the $50 dollar one with the $350 said could not be combined
-
Then I'm sure you can figure out which is the better discount lol
-
this is so tempting. I'm going to give dell sales rep a call and see if i get a better discount there. If not i will get the m11x with the $350 discount coupon.
does any one knows the expiration of the coupon? -
^
Coupon expires in May...but I have a feeling Dell may cut this short. Seems strange that they'd cut down $350 in price off of a brand new unit. Maybe it was a mistake?
I'm waiting on my sales rep, too. If I can get this config at the price I want I will bite. -
you guys think the sales rep will offer something much better than this? i think its an amazing deal, but my budget is $1000, so even though using that coupon would be an awesome deal, i just dont think i could swing it.
id love to get my hands on a config with the advance coverage. think a sales rep could offer me a config w/ 2 year advance coverage for under $1000? -
^
I doubt it. I tried to bargain them down on an M14x and they wouldn't give me more than $50. I ended up walking away and that was that. Now trying to get ~$100 off (on top of the coupon) - with 1 year advance warranty you could maybe get $1000 as your price (add tax/s&h). -
This is just like when the R1 came out. I remember there being a discount on the top model, the C2D.
-
The R1 offered C2D regardless of the chosen cpu

Intel® Pentium® Processor SU4100 (2M Cache, 1.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)with SPEC Code(s)SLGS4 Maybe it has the same architecture, but it wasn't called Core 2 Duo.

The $350 and the $50 worked fine on the M11x r2 i7 - I purchased two of them on 4/17, assuming that the R3 would not be available for a couple more weeks and that the entry price would be out of my reach.
Surprise. Surprise.
When I checked the Dell site again today only to find the R3's present. I was also very interested in the M14 - the on board disc drive is just convenience at your finger tips, but the interal HD streaming could really solve another one of my problems. Anyways, I thought why not try the coupon codes I had just used on the M11x r2 and it was clear that they would not work together (actually they did stack, but the $50 would have to be reviewed by Dell and I did not really want a bunch of attention to my purchase) so I went with the $350 and free shipping. Had to cancel my two m11x r2's (which was a mess - if at first you don't succeed with Dell, just call back - the next rep WILL help you!!) and then picked up a Mars Red for the wife and a Stealth for me.
I also believe that Dell will be yanking the coupon before its expiration date. The price is too good! However, it may not be a coincidence that the top i7 Sandy B. along with 8GB Ram, WiMax Card, Sound Blaster, and BT3 is exactly the amount needed to qualify for the coupon. Hmmmmmm - how sneaky are you Dell???
Regardless, I cannot wait to get these machines. -
A note to anyone in Australia, this coupon does not work, which is rather disappointing.
-
XXF4B4H6QRLG9L this worked for the m15x it gives you $450 off system must be
be at least $1600 so the coupon can work. -
nice! To bad it didn't work on the m14!! That would be sweet.

I agree that the coupon staying up may have been an oversight. It was likely up there to help sell R2's not R3's. It will likely still last until May 13th or whatever, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was pulled earlier.
And no, you typically can't combine any Dell or Alienware coupons (eg. this one and the $50 off Alienware coupon).
I still don't know if I will pull the trigger on an m11x, despite the fact that the coupon will let me get one pretty loaded for around $1200. I will probably end up waiting for more m14x reviews before I decide. -
Agreed that they normally do not let you stack, but this site had three coupons, two of which work on the m11xr3 ($350 and shipping from $9 to free) and they let you use the $50 with the $350 on the m11xr2 just two days ago...
-
I've been trying these coupon codes and I'm having no luck.
-
I didn't need the 8gb ram or wimax card to reach the $1,460 to qualify for the $350 coupon. I did it by the base $999 then getting the i7 cpu, BT3.0, Sound Blaster XI-Fi, intel 6205 wifi, and the most important of all the 2 yr warranty. The base 320gb 7200rpm hd and 4gb of ram will do just fine and can be upgraded later on for a cheaper price.
Total came out at 1,463 before coupon, then after applying coupon $1,113 before taxes of course. -
coupon worked for me. $1200 with tax and shipping pretty loaded out. I placed and order yesterday on EPP website but savings wasn't near what this coupon is so I canceled this morning and placed a new order with the coupon.
FYI - if you use a Dell Preferred Credit Card you save another 3%. Looks like interest free if you pay off in 12 months. That expires April 27th. -
What's the average EPP discount sitting at currently?
-
God bless this coupon code.
I cancelled my R3 through EPP and got a much better deal using this coupon.
+rep
-
Any additional $50 coupon?
-
Saved $350 thanks to this topic, much obliged
-
FYI - looks like they started to clean up the errors on the site and they actually increased the cost of 8GB of RAM from $60 to $120. It will be interesting to see if they address the coupon soon.

Glad people are getting some use out of it.
Searching for coupons is a habit for me ever since I bought my Dell XPS Gen2 back in 2005. That was specced out something ridiculous around $3300, but Dell for some reason had a "40% off any Insipiron over $1000" coupon out that worked on it so I got it for a little over $2000. Too bad they don't have those anymore... My XPS is now on ebay to help fund my future m11x or m14x purchase.
-
To get a Dell Preferred Credit Card, do you just have to apply for the Dell Preferred Account?
-
8gb ram upgrade have always been $120.
-
I could be wrong, but I am fairly sure I got the upgrade on day one for $60. I went to look at the invoice, but the price was all inclusive (except for BT - strange, lol).
-
FYI, this code can no longer be applied to r3 orders. I found out the hard way...
-
This is so disappointing. Guess the R3 is off my list and it's back to the M14X once I purchase next week.
-
wow. looks like i got in just in time. hope they don't cancel my order or something
-

I figured it was only a matter of time until Dell figured out that a large percentage of their R3 orders were using this and cut it off. Too bad.
-
Who's subsidizing these U.S coupons? Us Europeans?
-
That's just mean, when you try, the coupon displays on the bottom:
Discount Details
$ 350 off Alienware M11x Laptop $1459 or greater
Expires Friday, May 13, 2011
Coupon applies to Alienware M11x laptop $1459 or greater. Offers cannot be applied to Alienware M11x R3 laptops. Offer cannot be combinable with mail in rebates, dollars off, percentages, or select other promotions
Nice one, Dell!
I dunno, they might put it back. When I was debating on my R2 last month, the coupons were like that, one hour they were ok, then they didn't work then they'd work again; it's worth checking back.
Glad I got it applied yesterday though. -
With the exception of EPP codes (no posting EPP related deals - see forum rules), all 'deals' belong here -
