Okay, so I've decided to finally cave in and do my firmwire update by dell for my Samsung SSD. First question, has anyone done it and was it worth it? Wiping your HD and losing your recovery partition.... eh I'm iffy about that.

Second question, I'll be installing from my Windows 7 Alienware disc, but from my experience with this disc on my old R1, it did not restore the red Alienware Windows Login Welcome screen, or was this something I was doing wrong? I'm kind of a fan of that red welcome screen opposed to the traditional blue.

    Any help always appreciated.
