yesterday in somebody's topic i noted that my hinge was making creaking noises since i unboxed it - early on i didn't take much notice, because most hinges on my laptops have creaked a little.

anyway, i had been considering sending it for a repair or a replacement (it was less than 28 days, and my store offered an exchange)

so today i opened the lid and it felt incredibly flimsy on the left hand side. i pressed it a little with my finger, and the hinge sunk a fair bit, and stayed like that.

anyway i've sent it back to the store to get it repaired (there were some irreplaceable stickers on it, which i told them i wanted to keep - when my macbook broke, with nice stickers, apple gave me a new unit and switched the screen back over for me)

so i've got a two week wait, the dell courier will pick it up from the store tomorrow.

i should have sorted the creaking out as soon as i hear it creak, but i didn't till this happened. for the record, 3 of my mates all bout m11x's (one silver, two blacks) and their one's are rock solid. no flexing or rattling.
