I've been using my m11x (i5 model, 4gb ram) to play oblivion since I got it about a month ago. Trouble is, I recently loaded up the game again after taking a break for a few weeks, and the frame-rate was unbelievably slow, even without HDR (which i've never been able to use due to nvidia). I'm wondering could the optimus not be recognizing the game? This is extremely confusing because I haven't changed anything at all, and the m11x should kill oblivion.
Also, am wondering if anyone else has experience playing Medieval 2 total war on the m11x. Even with the graphics at medium, it runs battles with a very slow framerate- am wondering if, again, optimus is not recognizing the game.
If anyone has input, it would be much appreciated.

I would make sure you have the latest drivers. I prefer the official ones and add the game you want to play to the whitelist.
Next I would download the evga percision overclocking tool.
It forces the nvidia card to stay on and will tell you the speed of the gpu.
Play the game for a bit and exit. Look at the GPU clock speed history and make sure the GPU is reaching its full clock speed (450MHZ). -
Oblivion is a rather finicky game.
I was told over at the Bethesda Softworks forums that there have been issues with it due to optimus, so that could potentially be it.
Here's the link.
Might want to ask there under the Oblivion hardware and software issues forum, they are pretty helpful for that specific game.
As for the other game I've no idea. -
Where do I get the drivers for the m11x? I looked on nvidias site and downloaded what it had there for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M (what its autosearch thing said I had) but when I tried to install it the installer said "could not find hardware for the downloaded drivers- installer will now close". Which was of course rather befuddling, didn't know whether the m11x had a special download or something.
