    I have the bag myself.
Personally I find it a great addition to the system, especially when you use it as a laptop cooler stand too (theres a picture of it, but you essentially fold the opening backwards onto itself, so theres a huge gap for the mesh fan.

How I store my system is I have to take the wire off, and slide both pieces into the sleeve that options from the 'top' of the portfolio when you open it like a portfolio. The zipper is a bit tight, but it does close successfully.

The have a small mouse which i stick on the mesh bag on the outside, but its super awkward.
I do recommend possibly getting a separate pencil case like storage bag for the charger and mouse stuff if you plan on using the portfolio for other things (like pens, papers, etc).

I also have the bag which I use frequently.

I solely use it to store my laptop in - it keeps it very safe and secure, not to mention looks good and is highly portable. In regards to the charger, I store it with my Razer headphones and Razer mouse in another bag.

The m11x has enough battery life so I can just take it out and use the built in touchpad and keyboard. However generally I take everything with me and my second bag just goes within a backpack filled with clothes if I'm going away for a few days.

I prefer a laptop fitted bag compared to a larger version that allows you to carry the power supply and all your accessories. It saves me from bashing every person I bump into with a large bag for starters, and to be fair I don't really need it. I tend to only use my laptop once I'm at my destination, during which time, It's no hassle for me to pull out my laptop and the equipment out of my backpack - if anything it's more portable for me while I get to the destination.

In conclusion, it's pretty much what suits your needs.
