My alienware is unable to set to nvidia and always run on intel. Fn+F6 doesnt work. When i look at device manager, it shows that nvidia driver is active but not configured or something like unable to be used by nvidia device, However, when i disable and re-eneble the nvidia driver, it works properly and my comp switches to using nvidia gpu. The next time i switch on the comp, it runs on intel, requiring the whole manual process again to run on nvidia. My nvidia driver version is 8.17.11.9772 which window sees as the latest version. I would appreciate any explaination or aid.

Download and install the latest driver straight from NVIDIA. It should fix many of the problems associated with switchable graphics.

Did you try the drivers directly from NVIDIA?

If you do, be sure to set for dedicated only in BIOS. No switching if using 2xx series from their site.
