    Hi guys,

Just a heads up that dell has put a decent deal up for the i7 m11x r2. I have just put an order through :)

    i7 640m
    4gb ram
    500gb 7200rpm HDD
    bluetooth and rest as stock
£978!! remember you can also get 10% back with quidco.

    Link:
The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

Finally a reasonable price in the UK :)
There is also an offer for the i5 for 900 with 320gb and 4gb if people would prefer

quidco is better as you get 10% off, but you have to wait a month for it to be paid

How do you find this deal via the Quidco link? Did you use it? Has your Quidco account been updated with the money?

use quidco, follow the link to the dell website. choose the i5 deal and then change the url from n00w1x05 to n00w1x04 and it will load the i7 offer. then just buy as normal.

I only purchased it this morning so my quidco hasnt updated yet. But I did similar things with my m11x r1 and m15x and got the quidco money back

edit to psikey - you cant have epp and quidco :( you have to choose one or the other

Just bought the i7 at that price of 930.54.

Pretty good deal I think. You also get the 500 GB HD and the bluetooth thrown in. That works out at around a £230 quid saving if you spec it off of the normal site. Not too bad!

Sorry, i should have spotted that! Thanks!

I just ordered one but my order messed up online and didn't process correctly due to technical errors, so im just waiting on a sales person to get back to me to see if he can process it. Fingers crossed......

Thanks for posting such an excellent deal! I ordered the i5 version 2 days ago for £893, so i have just cancelled that :)

    Likewise 7-7-10 for me too!

    :)

This will be my first Alienware since my Area 51 5500 which I have had for 4 years now and has been a great laptop.

    Typing on it just now!

I was never a fan of alienware until I bought my R1, but having bought it on an imulse, it was the best IT purchase I think I have ever made! Decent looks, battery, 3d power, speakers and backlit keyboard! The only thing that let it down for me was the CPU so now this i7 should solve that problem :)

Does quidco only work with dell deals? As there's no deals for the M11X currently :(.

Well I use the above deal with no code and paid £979.00.
Quidco tracked this and I am awaiting my £83.31 cashback (you get 10% before vat).

So it seems to be working but i don't have the cash yet.

I have just seen on the UK Dell website that the R1 is listed for £640. However, when I click on the link, the price goes back to £749. Is this just a mistake by Dell?

I remember seeing that as well when I was browing- the R1 listed as £640 is without VAT, which is why when you go to buy it, it's £749.

Sorry for double post- apparently I can't delete this post or I would have merged the two together.

Don't suppose you mind me being annoying, but mind explaining what you did to get it?

I'm worried I'm going to order it and not get the 10% cash back.
Do I load the £979 into the basket, load up the Quidco link > click my basket then do it that way?

    This is what I did.
    1. Open up the Dell deal in a browser
    2. In a totally separate browser go to Quidco, find the Dell deal bit and click, this opens a pop-up that you click through to the Dell site. I think it opens a fresh browser.
    4. Go to the original browser with the Dell deal on it. Copy the URL from the address line.
    4. In this fresh browser that quidco just opened paste in the URL.
    5. Complete the order as normal in this browser.

A day later Quidco will show the transaction "tracked". It then takes some time to get the cash depending on when Dell are happy they have a commited sale.

It is a bit nervy but I find Quidco tracks quite well. I did the order about three times (quiting out twice for some reason or other) and have three transactions tracked.

Do read the quidco advice, which talks about not disabling popups etc..

In the end it's £80 so not the end of the world, and there are routes to chase it through with quidco.
