    does anyone know if that intel card will fit and/or improve performance over the dell card ??

    I've heard the other owners have tried the Intel 6200, but I don't actually own one myself. I've been mulling over whether or not I'd get any significant results by getting one.

    No, it will not improve performance.

    Performance is determined by signal strength. And you improve signal strength by using better antennas, not by using better WiFi cards.

    I just want to say that this is 100% false. I hate to sling poo, but you really think the market is open for Intel to make these because it's fun? They sell because the difference is quite real (as claimed by members of our own forum).

    The Dell 1520 Wireless-N card is subpar at maintaining sustained throughput, and simply dropping a 7 or 8 gig ISO on to NAS will see a minute or two decrease in transit time on the 6200. 53/6300 series nets no improvement unless you are willing to wire in a 3rd antenna and own a 3x3 router.

    Well i ended up ordering one either way. I was able to get my router tweaked by boosting the tx power and antenna gains. got the dell card running good. I will try with the Intel card once i get it and update results here.
