Is it overclocked any bit? If its at 133mhz then it will be lower.

Maybe it's just because the i7-640UM isn't all that great of a processor. I mean, it's an i7, but it's also a ULV processor with a 1.2 GHz clock speed and only turbos up to 2.26 GHz.

Run CPU-Z and make sure it is reporting 2 Cores, 4 Threads. Too many users have accidentally disabled one of their cores so it will only report 1 Core, 2 Threads.

If this is the problem, run msconfig and click on Boot, Advanced Options and make sure Number of processors is NOT checked. Reboot after that.

Once that is fixed, download ThrottleStop so you can run as fast as everyone else. :)

Check the Task Manager. When your computer is idle at the desktop, what is the typical CPU Usage number? Do you have a pile of background junk running on your computer? The majority of NBR users are overclocking in the bios combined with ThrottleStop which gives a big boost in performance. If you don't do this, the UM processors that these laptops use can really lag.

Because he overclocked the snot out of it up to a BCLK of 191 MHz. :D

Why don't you guys do cKranez a favor and reset your laptops to default specs and run WEI without any overclocking? That would give him some numbers to compare to. As nice as these overclocked WEI scores are, they are useless to compare to since cKranez already stated that he is not overclocking.

On the M11x-R2, ThrottleStop is designed to improve performance after you overclock in the bios. If you are not overclocking then ThrottleStop probably won't show any significant improvement.

Your CPU Usage sounds fairly normal. If you want better performance then I guess you will have to overclock like everyone else is doing.

Its fine to overclock in the Bios. Alienware wouldn't have kept it in the bios if it wasn't safe.

You may not be able to hit the full 166BLK due to the ram. It at very fast timings at stock and sometimes can't keep up. Try something around 150 and see how you get on.

You are getting such a low wei score because it takes the lowest score out of all of them. If it "graphics" that are low, just update to the newest nvidia drivers. This will fix the problem. Im on 275.33.

Just updated mine with the new RAM.

    6.4 CPU
    5.9 RAM
    5.4 Aero
    6.6 Gaming
    7.1 HDD

Having the intel graphics does have its drawbacks. With Aero on AutoCAD 2010 can be a little laggy and not particularly nice to use. Using game booster which turns off Aero its far more snappy than my 2.66 Quad Core work desktop.
