i play this simple free first person shooter multiplayer game called Crossfire made by Z8Games, its practically a knock-off of counter strike...and my fps is constantly 20-50, never above, WHY?? i run L4D2 at freaking 70fps SMOOTH gameplay!

ugh its so confusing! before i even got this laptop i was all like braggin to my friends how the games gunna be so easy to play since of how little graphics it has, ill be able to do like 200fps or something. and NO i get 20-50??? :( ugh

make sure ur nvidia card is on. you can go into the control panel by right clicking on ur desktop. From there you can add crossfire and make sure it uses the nvidia. You should "Save changes" , you should exit and then u can play crossfire.

Try the Optimus test tools listed in the first post of this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m11x/495489-m11xr2-optimus-test-tools.html

Specifically, the NVIDIA Optimus GPU State Viewer tool (nvOptimusTestViewer64.exe) will tell you whether your GPU is activated, and what executables are using that GPU. You can see whether your game is running using the nVidia 335M GPU, or whether it is using the Intel GMA GPU.

If your game is using the Intel GMA GPU, you can force it to use the nvidia GPU when you launch the game by right-clicking on the EXE and choosing Run with Graphics Processor --> High Performance nVidia GPU. Note, that you must do this on the actual EXE file. Right-clicking on a shortcut to launch the game will not give you this menu option.
