I was handling just cause 2 at 18 fps on lowest.
HOWEVER when I plug in the charger I get around 30-40 fps on HIGH
    what gives? Any fixes?

I think its related to the power plan.

Check its on high performance and then check the specific settings for when running on battery. I had a similar issue and my power plan just needed a few tweeks :)

yeah, your graphics card is set to medium settings on battery by default. You need to change this manually in the power settings.

Thanks, I am very new to this device and don't know how to do this very well. I will try in command center, should I just leave high performance ofor gaming or what? Please help me decide, thanks again.

right click on the little battery icon in the corner, then choose the power plan you want to use (Power saver, balanced, but high performance is best for gaming) and click on change power settings to the right of the different power options. Then click advanced power settings, and a box should pop up. scroll to the bottom of that box and find the plus box next to graphics processor. two options should come up: "on battery" and "Plugged in", on battery should say "Balanced mode", change it to "High Performance" and you should be good. just a warning, it will reduce your battery life by a bit.
