False advertising I believe, I don't ever recall a time when the M11x-R2 had that CPU option.

Someone did order an R2 with the 680UM in this subforum. I wonder what he got. This could be the R2 with effectively full voltage CPU performance if 17 is the dual core multiplier and 166mhz + TS was achieved.

How? I see no option in any of the configs. I just ordered mine on the 24th as well and got this Overclockable Intel Core i7 640UM (4M Cache, 2.266 GHz Max Turbo Frequency) Fastest that they offered. Where did they order?

With a lucky choice even 3Ghz could be stable with higher BCLK.

I believe they announced this processor as well as another i5 option a few weeks ago. Surprised they got it out so quickly.

No. Just a new CPU option. Still the R2.

I remember when it was the "developer edition" and it was available in China.

Can you state where you ordered it? As far as I can see, Dell Norway does not provide an i7-680UM as option.

I ordered over the phone on Monday night in the USA and my order form has the i7-640UM on it. Good luck to you! Maybe you will be one of the first riders of the new wave of processors.

He said so, but I think he was sarcastic or something. It doesn't make sense to make a R3 with only hinge upgrade.
