So a few days ago I brought a refurbished alienware m11x from ebay. It's a great laptop and has worked perfectly up until last night when I decided to try the over clock setting in the bios. So after enabling it I quit the bios. Here's where it went wrong. The lights came on and the fan spun for a brief few seconds then stopped. Nothing on the screen at all. I've tried everything from disconnecting all battery's (including cmos), changing the ram around and even tried the bios re flash method but after 2 hours of beeping and not doing anything else I gave up. Is there anything else I can do to try and bring this thing back to life or is that the end of it? :( Thanks.

It seems like the overclocking could have damaged the processor. If a blind flash does not work and neither does a power drain or CMOS clear... I'm afraid that either the motherboard or the processor need to be replaced. Depending on which M11x you have you may need to replace only one part because some of them have the processor built-in the motherboard.

Are you leaving the main battery un-plugged when you are trying to clean CMOS?

What generation of M11x do you have? R1,2,3?
