Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, i couldn't seem to find a fix...

After optimizing the r1 for gaming, i cant seem to disabled the touchpad once i plug in a USB mouse... from what i understand this was a feature in the alienfusion software? Is there any way to fix this issue?

Also, my laptop has a problem waking, once i put it to sleep. When i open the lid, the lights turn back on but not the screen. Any fix for this?

I used Stevenxs' optimization for BCBF2, which worked great so far.

    Thanks in advance.

I believe it's located in the actual touchpad options--go to your task bar, find the icon on the bottom right and right click -> Properties. Should be a box you check. Don't have my laptop with me at the moment, so someone else may be able to give more specific directions.

If you use the default dell drivers it has the option to disable it. Just go to your mouse properties, then synaptics tab, and you will find it on that main screen.

Otherwise if you download drivers from Synaptics the option isn't there. And there is no function key combo that you can use unfortunately.

But thankfully one of the members here from maybe a year or so ago found the registry key entries to auto disable the touchpad in the Sager forums (which is my laptop). It also works with the M11x. Here are the files if interested if you installed the Synaptics drivers instead of Dell's but still want auto disable and enable when plugging in an external mouse.

Reboot your machine after double clicking both the registry files (one for current user and one for local machine).

I did indeed download the Synaptics drivers, which gave me the extra scrolling functions... The reg keys worked wonderfully, Thanks!

Anything i can do about the computer failing to wake after i take it out of sleep mode? The lights turn on but the screen stays black... im forced to restart.

Good question. Haven't run into that one yet. Are you running nVidia or Intel graphics when this happens or both?

The Hybernation fail is a known problem when you've deactivated the Hybrid switching, ie if you use 'dedicated' in the BIOS option. It won't be able to wake up anymore. As far as I'm aware this happens regardless of which nvidia driver you use but it may work if you use the DELL supplied nvidia 197 driver set (but why would you? May as well use switchable then...). No known solution exists so far.

Yup, thats my problem.. i enabled discrete graphics in the BIOS and have not been able to wake it normally. Unfortunately i didn't try the sleep function till after i changed the driver/bios.

Well thats a bummer, and from what i understand the best possible performance is achieved with the latest driver and/or switching the graphics in bios?

Kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop when you would have to be bound to a charger, instead of simply closing the lid.

    edit: ill just use hibernate

So far I haven't seen the need to use the nVidia dedicated drivers. Everything I've tried, albeit limited at this point, works great. Hoepfully Dell will release new drivers at least every six months, and I'll be good with that. Preferably sooner.

I had the same problem until yesterday when it mysteriously stopped.

Had discreet on and was using 260 drivers full time, but couldn't turn off sleep mode. Finally was fed up so I did an uninstall followed by guru3d drive sweeper, and in bios turned switchable back on. Started up, couldn't switch graphics for some reason, checked my drivers, it said 260... and it would wake up from sleep. Not touching any more settings lmao.

    Goodluck lol.
