    m11xr1 Smell and weird sound from DC-input.

    Second time already I plug in my power cord into laptop, hear some clap sound and then I smell some weird smell. Don’t know what that is but few sec later there are no smell and laptop is working fine. First it happened a week ago, and second time was few hours ago. Maybe some static electricity?

    Whatever is it that's smelling is likely going to give up the ghost soon. Call Dell now. I know that Eric was asking people who reported similar issues to contact him about capturing their laptops.
