I recently just noticed that my notebook will go into Hibernate (the critical battery response) even when the battery is reading a Full Charge. I also checked the LEDs on the bottom of the notebook and there are 5 LEDs lit. This happens only sometimes now but I am concerned that it will be an ongoing issue. I have unplugged the battery and checked it out and plugged it back in but the problem still persists. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Do I need a new battery from Dell?

Let me first appreciate the fact that you have tried the steps yourself to resolve the issue.
Firstly, I recommend you to do a bios update from the below link.

Kindly Verify by checking the status of battery in Alienware command center.
Waiting to hear from you.

Adding to what my partner had to say you can also try this article from our website.
Have you had any errors regarding the power cord? Like "This AC adapter is not the recommended one" or anything between those lines? -
Thanks for the support. I will be trying both of these troubleshoots -

I haven't heard back from you on this issue. If you need further assistance shoot me a PM and I'll provide you all the details you need regarding this. You can also use the e-mail on the above post.
Also just to make sure did you flash the BIOS and do the power drain?.
