    m11xr2 gt335 missing from device manager

    I've spent a fair share of my work morning trying to find a solution to this weird issue. Pretty much started from square one, a newly reloaded hard drive.
    Initially, under device manager there were 2 devices under "Display adapters", The Intel HD, and the Nvidia gt335....
    The laptop froze mid game using the gt335, as I hear is common with some of the m11xr2's (not all).
    Laptop was restarted, and now only the Intel HD shows in device manager.
    I attempted to reinstall using the Dell specific Nvidia driver, however the software package says that it cant find a device....

    I was able to get the nvidia to pop back into device manager once (as this has happened a couple times since the reload), but I am unable to recreate whatever I did.

    After viewing a couple similar threads (that didn't really have a resolve), the following is what I've tried so far.

    *Attempted new drivers from Nvidia (pointless as there is no device for the software to install itself to)
    *Went to Intel's site to download the new chipset software - Didn't help.

    What my goal is, is to get the gt335 back, and set it as my default graphics chipset. Rumor has it, the issue lies with the switching between the two cards on some systems. So by setting the nvidia as the default, there shouldn't be a switching issue....in theory.

    Any help what-so-ever to get the gt335 to show back in device manager would be GREATLY appreciated

    Does anyone happen to know of something that I may be missing? I would think that the nvidia device would be detected...although, is there a way of turning it on per say?

    For whatever reason, the chipset came back. However it still isn't functioning. I have supporting pictures now. Hopefully it helps someone, help me! lol

    I would do a full reinstall of all video drivers. But i am afraid it may be bad soulder on the mobo...

    Uninstall the driver you have from nvidia.com and reinstall the factory ones from dell.com

    *And by uninstall I mean boot in safe mode and delete EVERYTHING nvidia related. Also run DriverSweeper*

    On reboot you should have a "new device detected" let the system install and then install the factory drivers.

    try a fresh install of windows, if that doesnt work, you could have a faulty card.
