I have an original m15x (not Dell) and I'm considering swapping. Do you think it would be a fair swap for an m11x?

The m15x is as it came from Alienware, ie. not upgraded or fiddled with (looks almost new and has no hinge issues!). It has 8800GTX, 2.5Ghz, 4GB Ram, 250GB HDD.

What model spec is the M11x? I'd say definitely not fair - but in your favor, the 8800GTX is an outdated GPU. You have a steal there mate

I'd jump on that in a heartbeat no matter if it were R1 vs R2

    I wouldn't trade my M11x for it.

He's trading his older M15x for the M11x, not the other way around, but your sentiments are correct

I know. I was only thinking it wouldn't be a huge leap in performance seeing his M15's spec btw.

Thanks guys, pretty much confirmed what I thought. Seeing them side by side, the m15x actually looks to perform better in games. The guy with the m11x is fed up with the small screen and I'm after a more portable laptop - I think I might have to offer a few £££ into the equation.

It's the C2D version m11x, not the newer i7 btw.

I wonder if I'd get the same responses over in the m15x section
