Looks like those "wonder" drivers have come out of beta.
Personally I'm hoping they fixed these issues:
- Left 4 Dead 2 High Shader Crash.
- Grand Theft Auto 4 memory detection. FIXED
I can't find much on the performance improvement for the GT335M though, if it is even there.
Let's see if they really enable a higher overclock or if that's a placebo.
Download it at nVidia.com. Direct linked here for conveniance.

Installed on the R2. Issue from the BETA driver still continues with WoW. Anyone confirm?
Starts up with Audio and a Black Screen with no images. The WoW cursor is visible but nothing else.
Edit: Adding -opengl to the target line allows it to run without issues except the settings arent able to go above low for shaders. So it has something to do with the gxapi. I guess Ill revert back to 276.xx until the issue is resolved.
WoW says that in order to increase shader and water quality it "Requires a shader model 3 capable graphics card"
In previous drivers the card was able to handle it. -
I just installed the beta one. is there any real advantage to upgrade now?
-
Would any R1 users like to test an Optimus version of this driver? -
Can anyone tells me if it fixes the texture setting problems in the witcher? I have to run a pretty old driver to make it work.
-
I may have a go at knocking up an M11xR1 hybrid driver set.
Nivida 270.61/Intel 2302, like how difficult can it be...skip, skip, skip...
But seriously, like.. Just an exercise in science to confirm:
- An M11xR1 doesn't support Optimus when BIOS is left in hybrid mode.
- An M11xR1 is now, also able to use Optimus when not in discrete BIOS mode.
Or is there's something you know, that has prompted this line of thought?
It's no problem to test it, just interested in the parameters defining the test environment.
What Intel GMA version do you think you'd need. I have had Intel GMA 2302 running on an M11xR1 -
-
Not really a hint, just a new project now that BIOS modding is all done: Drivers for the R1 that are the latest and retain switching capability of some sort. I'm just picking up where Nautis left off.
EDIT:
The BIOS should be set to switchable as that keeps the GMA enabled.
The second item in the list is correct.
I was thinking about the driver dichotomy R1 users face: Either use old drivers with issues to retain switching or take a battery hit and use the newest drivers.
The parameter I'm most concerned with is battery life. With Optimus there should be less battery life then Switchable as the GT335 gets polled every so often. -
-
I have had Nvidia 260.63/Intel 2302 up and running, just had switching problems. Was waiting for 270.xx to be made available before I started again in earnest.
If you need someone to test an Optimus version, I'm more than happy to give it a try.
AND good luck to you too sir.
Oh, Andrew08 may have a few pointers too. -
Well it fixed the GTAIV problem with 267 drivers, the Nividia card was not usable with those, even at low settings at 800x600 it was unplayable, now I have a mix of mediums and highs at 1366x768 and works great...
I need to check out the rest of the games that the 267 driver broke, like Just Cause 2 and Red Faction G -
Woohoo, I like these drivers, medium on everything StarCraft 2, I topped 80fps during mid game 100 food, and dropped to 43fps during 200 food battles
-
any other improvements?
-
Can anyone confirm the L4D2 shaders problem? If not immediate response I'll go do it now.
-
YES! YES! YES!
Now all they need to do now is add scaling options again -
I'm working on Optimus. Almost done.
-
Downloading these drivers now. I'll test Left 4 Dead 2 and get back to you guys.
EDIT: Got an error during installation, accidentally clicked through it. "NON IE/Netscape" it said, or something. Anyone else confirm?
Installation seems to be chugging along though. -
So.... bad news....
These drivers do not fix the problems with "Very High" shaders on Left 4 Dead 2. The persistent white fog is reduced a bit, and not as noticeable... Guns are still white, but look normal on "Medium" shaders... there are some graphical oddities too, for example the sky can look "inverted" sometimes... but other than that, performance is great and got no crashes. my Framerate ranged from 30-50 on these drivers, peaking at about 80. -
-
Good news
Just Cause 2 works again
Red Faction Guerilla works again, but I can´t get to detect my 360 controller to play, and it was working before
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the same, I can´t make to detect my 360 wired controller to play, and it was working before...
I really don´t know if is a problem with my controller, drivers or what, but since other games like Dirt 2, GTAIV, Mafia II, Just Cause 2, etc. work with the controller, I guess is the game, or the GPU drivers... -

So earlier I posted that these drivers make WoW start with a black screen and audio in the background. After tweaking I found several things out:
1) WoW will run in full screen if you add "-opengl" to the target line but it drastically reduces performances and disables the use of shaders and water effects in addition to DX10 effects.
2) It will run fine if you set it to windowed fullscreen but the FPS is cut by 1/3. Very weird. The shaders and water effects work fine here.
Will Continue to run some tests -
Does Direct3D error still pop up with this driver?
-

Have you delete the command line -dontForceMinReqs? If so, have you WHITE-LISTED it? You have to whitelist the game on Nvidia control panel for it use the 335m and not the Intel HD. -

Minecraft is getting below 25FPS now after installing 270.61.
-
Now I feel silly.
Works great, just as you said! -
Any idea if the WoW framerate/freezing issues are improved?
-
-
Any idea if WoW framerates will improve on the R3? I ordered an R2 and its going to arrive next week. Not sure if I should just return it and order a R3. I mainly will be playing WoW and it seems that the R2 WoW issue is still not resolved.

-
That's good to hear! I will stick with the pre-270.xx drivers then. Thanks for the tip.
-
Fyi, these drivers make IE9 64-bit crash on start up. And also produces an annoying white-frame delay when opening up firefox 4 with hardware acceleration on. Why can't they get these drivers right? :\
-
fixed the problem with gta4, but the framerates SUCK!!!!! wdf?!?
-
Deevu, i had the problem with the black screen in wow too, than i reverted to stock driver 257.x.x ... what is the best version actually to run wow, 267?
-
Also, I turned AA down to 2x and turned off shadows at night. Though I also raised the view distance to 75%. Its very playable for me on the R2. -
-
Hi everyone, I think I have a problem here. I downloaded these drivers and installed them on my R1 but from what I read, they're R2 related? I installed them on discrete and my resolution and everything is preserved. I restarted and put it back in switchable and now I cannot switch between gpus and I'm stuck at 1024x768.
Could someone please point me in the right direction? -
-

-
Alright, I fixed my problem by just rolling back the driver to the 197.72 that came installed by default. Could anyone direct me to updated R1 drivers instead?
-
-
Edit: And I use MSI Afterburner not EVGA. -
So could I possibly use this driver with my R1 without having any serious problems? I know I'd lose my switching capabilities, but that's not such a big deal to me... Sorry for sounding stupid (And probably very stupid at that!), I just started to get into PCs and really don't know much about them besides the basics... Any help here? Thanks

edit: And I needed to underclock my gpuusing evga
