Ok so I have always loved the m11x for its size I love small computers, However I am torn I can get a r2 i5 for 600 but its a refurb from outlet (good price?), or go the hp deal for the dv6 for 800, so I am torn I love the size and the name aw, however is it dumb of me not to get the dv6 I dont travel much but move around the house alot if that makes sense.

    My current has a i3 2.4ghz and a 5650 either I go r2 i5 4gb or the dv6 with i7 sb, 6gb,6770m.

whats your guys advice I only play wow thats it.

Since you're asking for advice and my opinion. Stay away from HP.

Build is not the greatest but it's sturdy enough. You can OC the R2 i5.

Bestbuy carries the dv6. Take a peek at one if you haven't yet. Specs only tell part of the story.

Either will blow the pants off wow.

Did you mean you like to blow the pants of that thing? The i5 refurb for $600 looks like good value, overclock or not, now that the cheap R3s are gone.

    This.

HP have the worst break down % between all laptop manufacturers (statistically proven).

I was talking to my UPS guy a few weeks ago and he said that his truck is full of broken HP laptops on a daily basis which are being sent for servicing which I believe.

HP laptops are really bad... Alienware is a brand with quality products, and Dell has the best warranty on earth. No point of comparison...

AW can most definitely handle WoW.

I used to do rated BG's, heroics and the occasional 10 man on my OC'd M11X-R1.

It will definitely run WoW fine :)

Just remember these settings tips to double your FPS:
    - VSync Off
    - Shadows Medium
    - Windowed Mode (and then make the window full screen manually)

You can probably be just fine on High Settings, but in 25 mans you may have to take it down a little for graphic intensive boss fights. You're best to ask an R2 owner on this part that has raided if that's what you plan on doing with the R2 if you'd like exact FPS averages ;)

You are in full screen like I mentioned in brackets.

You have to select "windowed mode" and then expand the window by double clicking on the top bar, which turns it into full screened-windowed. This increases your FPS dramatically :)

If you go just "fullscreen", your FPS won't be as good. You still get a full screen of WoW no matter which option you use, this way is just better.

The i7 has 2 extra multipliers over the i5 at a dual core load so it will be 17% faster at the same BCLK. Not a great difference but is enough to go from slightly behind R3 to slightly ahead in the benchmarks shown so far.

Why are you asking about HP in an Alienware subforum? You will get the same type of responses over in the HP forum.
