so read the throttle stop guide and my realtemp and throttle stop are showing 156 times 11.9 , I running a wprime test and why is it not hitting 14x multi. Also what are safe temps on this. It says 100 percent load and I have a i5, where did my multi go.

Also if I am not mistaking wprimeputs cpu at full load to see a stable oc correct? and is a lower score better or a higher score like 30 sec for example or 42 sec whats better

Using both cores, it will use 12x. 14x is when it is using one core.

Wprime isn't the best for stability. You should use Prime95 or Intel Burn Test.

so when gaming will it use both also so like cpuz shows 14x but thats cause its only using one core? Also so to get 2.0 on both cores I would have to oc it to 166 basically. also what are good temps at 100% I hit 75c with intel burn test seems high I ran it at 4 threads which i think is right

and is throttle stop naturally always working even when I first turn on the computer or must I always open it

ThrottleStop only runs when you start it. You can run a log file if you want to see what the average multiplier is while you are gaming. CPU-Z is designed for consistent validation purposes. The ThrottleStop multiplier tells you exactly what your CPU is doing. Turbo boost is constantly varying in the Core i design, hundreds of times a second so Intel recommends reporting the average multiplier which is what ThrottleStop does.

As an application runs, sometimes it is using 2 cores and sometimes only 1. It constantly changes depending on the program and how hard the CPU is working. When lightly loaded the CPU constantly tries to turn off one core so the other core can use more turbo boost and run faster. This technology works quite well.

An average multiplier of 11.9 means that your CPU is not able to maintain the full 12 multiplier due to turbo throttling. This is normal on the M11x. If you adjust the Force TDP/TDC option a little lower, you should get closer to 12.00. Do some benchmark testing with wPrime when playing with this. The quicker your CPU can do a 32M or 1024M calculation, the faster it must be running.

The M11x Supercharge thread is a good place to learn more about what ThrottleStop can do for an M11x-R2.

ok so is this turbo throttling bad thing and my force tdp/tdc is 16 or 8 I belive,, when i first ran wprime at stock i got 46 sec after 156mhz fsb i got 30 sec, so its better your saying. also the i7 has a higher multi almost makes me wish i got that now more speed :(

Turbo throttling must be a bad thing if getting rid of it has just knocked 16 seconds off your wPrime time. That's a huge difference in CPU performance.

The i7 has the higher multiplier but the i5 isn't too bad if you can use SetPLL to increase the bus speed further than the bios lets you. I've seen some guys running with it up to 180 MHz or so. The lower i5 multi usually means you can overclock this way further but it will depend on your memory quality. There is a SetPLL thread here so look for that if you reach the maximum overclock in the bios and it still wants to go higher.

Keep overclocking and you can probably chop a couple of more seconds off your wPrime times. Gaming will also be smoother with this extra performance and will improve some more once you start overclocking your GPU too.
