before i wouldn't have any of this, but i had intel graphics drivers installed and basically in forums when i type it it sort of is slow letter appear with a decent time lag, scrolling with arrows keys is jerky and laggy as well.

youtube gets frame drops out of the blue as well, quality doesn't matter... it does load it quick enough as well.

Now i had latest intel driver installed(i am rather confused with all the drivers from nvidia) it was 17.something i believe, and it developed this after a few days, i got rather ticked off and i put other driver which at the time i found latest to be 15.something for my intel HD graphics 3000 if memory doesn't lie, now it was fine for a few days again and it begun to be quirky and crappy and choppy. I cleaned browser cache then with cookies etc. and it was great again for like 2 days and it is same again... not as bad but it is damn annoying. sound is fine on youtube.

i am at a loss, as it is all over the place. i am using Opera browser, m11x R3. i don't really feel like reinstalling windows etc. as it is rather annoying. other browsers don't really get this... but then again i dont really use them that much.

should i bin this browser and move on to something else? i don't want the hippy fanboy crap, just sort of reality based opinions. i know opera is sort of an underdog of the browsers, and i have been using it way before mozilla got big (like IE5 times), and been loving it, but it seems to be getting crappier, not aging as well as good wine for sure.

anyone experience this with opera browser as well? or other browsers? dunno, even now it is sort of jerky when typing, with text following after at times...

    anyways, solutions?

I only experienced something like that on YouTube, on my R1, and only when using the Optimus drivers. Maybe I'll download Opera and see if I can replicate it.

I just tried a youtube video in Opera (I didn't install Flash for it) and typed some stuff in Bing search. Nothing seemed to be amiss.

Is there something more specific I could try to help you pin this down?

no, i am honestly clueless, reinstalling drivers kinda fixes it for like a few days, then i deleted cookies etc. and it fixed it for a few days... i am really at a loss, just wondering of anyone else has similar issues. otherwise ill probably move on to another browser... gunna be a pain transfering everything

Right after I posted my last, I noticed that the YouTube video (but not the sound) was a tad choppy. But writing wasn't. Does it happen all the time, or only after you've been working for a while?

lol i got no idea, i think it is all the time, as when i reboot it still does it, though most of the time opera and everything else is open and i only use sleep, rebooting just when FN+fx keys start to not work or something else glitches up... (ME3 would crash when closing sometimes, and would refuse to die over ctrl+alt+del maneuver requiring reboot) but yeah it is pretty much all the time. actually now when i am writing most of the time it is fine, occasionally starting to lag behind... could it be SSD issues? i have been having some odd video playback issues, but really rarely to be fair...

i suppose it could be the browser... with newer versions they seem to have added loads of crap i don't care about... might just move on to chrome or mozzila. though would be sad to let opera go after so many years, but it seems to happen with all the games/software, they sort of become too bloated with useless crap and become unusable due to all the ideas that don't quite work in real life...

Have you uninstalled/reinstalled Opera? An OS reinstall might fix it, but that may be more work than switching to Chrome.

My r1 used to do that, then it somehow fixed itself... I just installed a new ssd and reinstalled windows. Now its back to doing green screen/ choppy video on youtube when on the intel chip.

well all the flash videos work fine with itnel graphics... even 1080p, intel graphics can handle it on my R3, but it seems to be a problem with flash or the web browser, when it gets choppy with frame drops... but if there is same issue with other browsers, could it be an issue with flash?

that doesn't explain my text lag though...

I wonder if it's something with Optimus being confused or something. Maybe whitelisting Opera? It's worth a shot. I only say it because I did have problems on my R1, but only after installing the experimental (and awesome) Optimus driver.

wait, is this all regarding Adobe player stuff? I think its the accel option during playback. I turned that off and all green nonsense went away. BIG CPU hit though.

hardware acceleration thing has been fixed ages ago, had totally forgotten about it. tried turning it off, doesn't do much.

ill try updating my ssd firmware, just in case since there is an update...

and no it isn't all about abobe player stuff... unless forum type boxes use flash... which i doubt they do.

i have tried other browsers and i don't seem to get this problem... will try a clean reinstall of opera later today with possible some older versions. if that doesn't work i guess ill go on opera's forums to see whats up as it wouldn't seem to have much to do with the m11x...

I see. FYI: mentioned the adobe hw accel because I ran into this recently with the 285optimus setup. Green bar in vid playback etc. Turn off accel and all is well. Did NOT try other drivers or dig for updates.

Anywhoo and nevermind, see what Opera folks have to say

ok, so after digging a bit i noticed my HDD cache was set to 20mb for some odd reason! set to 400mb works like a dream! no slowdowns at all anymore. so yeah if you got these issues thats the thing to check :)

    Solved this :)

was that an SSD specific issue?
