So I got a new m11x r2, but I can't figure out how to make optimus use the integrated card.

The integrated graphics=intel hd. The 335m is a discrete graphics card.

I think you might be misunderstanding a few things.

Your laptop comes with two GPU's: Intel HD Graphics GPU, and nVidia 335M GPU. The idea is that programs that really need the GPU power (e.g. games) will use the nVidia 335M GPU. Other programs that do not need that much GPU power will use the Intel HD Graphics GPU, to save on battery life.

Optimus is the name of nVidia's software technology that automatically switches between the GPU. When you run a game, nVidia Optimus will automatically detect that game, and automatically switch you over to the nVidia 335M GPU. When you quit that game, nVidia Optimus automatically switches you back to the lower-power Intel HD Graphics GPU.

YOU, as the user of the computer, don't need to do anything. Optimus just automatically works. There are a few rare cases where Optimus incorrectly detects which application you are trying to run. But again, that is rare. 98% of the time, Optimus will just automatically work and you don't need to do anything.

Does that answer your question? Or did you have another problem?

Think he wants to know how to add flash to his whitelist. I'm not to sure if this will work since I'm at work, but see if adding your internet browser and setting it to run off integrated graphics will do the trick.

That's why having full manual control is better than optimus

Let's say the hd or flash video or program you are running is smooth in both the integpu/dedicatedgpu, you would rather run it on integrated gpu for heat and battery efficieny, while with optimus it will auto switch to dedicated when the integrated can already play it smoothly. Just an example
