    Hi,

when I overclock my gpu, i get a BSOD with "nvldmkm.sys".
Is it definetly a hardwareproblem, or might it be a Driver-issue?!

What is your revision of M11x?
When you overclock too high it's normal to get a BSOD. Try to set the frequencies lower...

    I have the M11xr2.

Sure, i have.... with the modded bios (0,95Volt) i "only" can go to 535Mhz (but my gpu-memory can go up to 950Mhz :) ....
When i go higher with the core-speed, i get the BSOD....
I use the 267.76 driver, because with the newest, i cannot go up to 535Mhz...

So this fact and the fact, that the BSOD is not talking about a hardware-error but a software/driver error, i thought that ther might be any trick or something ;-)

What are your temps? Because if the temps are pretty high that will also cause a error and make overclocking unstable.

Theres a program that lets you put the fan on manual so you can put it on max which i use while gaming and benchmarking and my gpu and cpu stays pretty cold. In call of duty black ops i ony see around 65c and my gpu is at 590 930 and 1230 shader.

    Heres the program http://www.hwinfo.com/download32.html

Click sensors tab than go down too the black fan icon click it and you can set a manual fan speed :)

Most of the people can around 550-600 Mhz.......

    another fact:

when I test the overclocking of my GPU, i always make one special test: 3dmark06 - canyon flight.
Why? well this is the only test where the 3dmark gets stuck.

No bluescreen - the laptop is reacting to "ctrl+alt+del" and "alt+tab", the hdd is working - but i am not able to do more....

the BSOD I only get on higher overclocking - is this a problem with my 3dmark? or is it the GPU?

i think you just have a gpu that doesnt clock well at all. that sucks. if i were you id back down to 515-520mhz on the core clock.

    Hi,

    535Mhz works stable....
I just read some other forums and saw that there are problem with this specific test in 3dmark06...
I had the newest patch but i reinstalled it - and now: it works!
    OMG!
    it works!

I made a first test with 560Mhz core and it works...
I will make further tests the next hours and give you a feedback.

I think the "getting stuck" is a 3dmark06-problem.
    The BSOD is the hardware-problem.

    Amybe i can breake the 9k at 3dmark06 :p

nice find there man, you could possibly get up to 600mhz on the core clock.

    well.... not realy ;-(

i dont know what went wrong...
    temps are OK!
I have no artifacts or other "errors" in 3dmark06.
It just freeze... but ONLY 3dmark!
My Notebook is responding..... so no "hardware-freeze".

oh man..... i have no idea anymore :(

try reverting the bios and send back to dell because I am pretty sure they wont support the modded bios

    hi have similar problems.
i got BSOD in same games and in some I do not.

Whenever I am running at default GPU speeds and i do no get BSOD. However when I am rising the clocks in i got BSOD in same games.

    e.g
    1. Dead Space 2 with default work flawless with O/L crashes with BSOD
    2. Starcraft work perfect with default with overlocking evreto GPU 470 i got BSOD.

    temps:
    GPU: up to 70
    CPU:70

    e.g2.
    1. BFBC2, Just Case, Buletstorm, Crysys work without problem in 550/900 with temps:

    GPU: up to 85
    CPU: up to 80.

    2. 3dmark work perfect scoring up to 7,3k++ wihout crashing

    temp: lower then above.

IS is HW/problem or driver problem ?
Should I ask for replacemnt in Dell or try to load R2A03modVGPU.zip ?

    Is my unit faulty ?

    My CPU O/L is @160

when i put my CPU at 166 laptop has big problems evern with starting.

    @160 work all time stable

    Hi,

your temps are OK (when the GPU reaches about 88°C, the Laptop will slow down for a moment!).

Your FSB with 160Mhz is ok.... you cannot change it any higher due to your hardware.

    Some games work/some not:

well that might be the driver...

But why do you think will dell change your mainboard ? Because its faster then you bought?
Give it a try - please tell when it works ;-)

bsod happens wiith the newest driver.
when i was using the driver from previous releases instead of bsod i had lock ups in same manner as i have bsod wifh this one.

what driver should i use .. should i load the extra voltage bios, any chance that would help??

it can help. on my R1 it let me increase my clocks by over 40mhz on everything.

    45mhz for the core clock
    65mhz for shader clock.

with 0.95 mod seems to be more stable:
    - i manage to play dead space 2 without bsod at 490 gpu.
    - gf ram is all now at 940 without casing issues 2.
    - cpu is at 160

next step is to mebe change drivers ? any suggestions i got latest crom nvidia.

btw. i did run 3d mark and scored only 7200 (i5 cpu) i think this is low as i read pll tend to get even 8k with r2 :(

still got bsod @ 490 core after some time. going down to 480.

this is rather due to mem or ram OL?

    with e.g. 450 core/ 940 mem i do not have any bsod.
