Interesting. First I've heard of this. Every computer is different. It could be the fact that your computers gpu reacts a bit different.

Oh and If you are trying to install a discrete driver I would revert like you did. Change to discrete, install the driver and then try the volt mod. The 270+ drivers will get you more performance than the volt mod.

Interesting to known. I'm volt mod'd on Nvidia 263 using switchable GPU.
Probably never upgrade or change it as my M11xR1 is to old to be messing with now.

It runs and that's all I need.

Seem to be using my Dell Dimension 4600i P4(3.2Ghz) more now...how weird is that.

ok after trying to install the volt mod on 275.XXX drivers and bricking again i have concluded that the volt mod does not allow for setting the gpu to discrete in BIOS

Wel I uninstalled the volt mod, set the gpu to discrete, no problem. Then I tried again with the volt mod and got a shiny new brick :( (with the 197.xxx drivers)

How are you determining its bricking? If it was truly bricked, you could not recover via USB. Is the screen blank you mean? Is your fan going full throttle?

I.E. Are you at least partially posting but not seeing it, or not at all.

Have you attempted an external monitor? I notice by default a external monitor is set to the Nvidia versus the Intel.

i know its bricking becausae afterwords the only way to my laptop to work again is to use my recovery usb, otherwise it just sits there, fan full blast, beeping occasionally

i think you need to get a different version of the volt mod. DavyGT should have another version coming up soon. the original got lost, and cant download it anymore. when did you download the modded bios?
