the ssd is worth it. get it. but i dont see the need to upgrade the wifi card if your not having trouble with the dell 1520 thats already installed.

If you like to keep media and games on your M11x, those 80GB's will fill up fast. I had a 64GB ssd but had to go back to my 500GB hard drive because the Windows installation and a few games filled it up pretty quickly.

SSD 10 to 1... as already mentioned... not enough reason to upgrade WiFi unless having problems.

+1 upgrade to SSD if you can: preferably an after market SSD because Dell's prices are just insane for 256gb.

Coming from a guy who's upgraded both... You notice a HUGE difference in HDD to SDD compared to a slight difference in WiFi upgrades.

If you can handle the lack of space a SSD is a awesome upgrade. i have a 60gb OCZ Vertex2 in my desktop and i love how much faster programs open. but for me i need the room for more stuff on the go (my Steam library alone is over 300gb). i know externals are a good option for some and i do own one but i cant stand having stuff to plug in once i pull the laptop out of my bag.

So for me the best option was getting the WD Blk 750gb. it is a AWESOME 2.5 HDD! very fast and a ton of space. quiet and didnt hurt my battery life at all. the trade off between this drve and a SSD was well worth it for my needs, consider how fast this 750gb is... its almost a non issue.

I will get a SSD for my laptop when the price vs storage changes drastically.

Any decent (with at least 100GB) SSD is over $200 its insane.
You can buy a netbook for that much.

i got the 80gb intel on the forum for 100, I only use like 40 gb right now with my games and windows so 80 was enough but i will wait on wifi i guess tho I have 25 free amazon credit and the card is 24 so it would be free.

SSD is nice, i have a 120gb intel but storage within the laptop is more important to me than using an external one that you have to plug and unplug so i went with the monstrous 750gb HDD ;).

I have the 6300 wifi card and love it. Also from what I have read the seagate momentus xt is almost as fast as the ssd. I have a 256 gb ssd and with pics and games and programs I have less than 40 gb left so I am seriously thinging about getting rid of my ssds and going that route with a couple of 500 gb seagates. Just wait to see if western digital is coming out with any hybrid drives.

well on my birthday im upgrading from a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 320gb HDD to an 80gb intel ssd, and im going to use the western digital in a drive inclosure, so they both get use.

im going to use a shorter cord for the enclosure, and make sure its a small 2.5inch one. im going to velcro it to the lid of the m11x and leave it plugged in. ;D
