this game runs like crap. new 260.99+hybrid 8 gb of ram low settings. One thought i had is that its making me turn on page-file, which tells me it uses it and with a 5400 rpm hard drive that's not good (waiting for my vertex in mail). Can anyone else let me know if they have issue with this game?

The game runs like crap because it is at low settings or it runs like crap even at low settings?
Also, I have read that is poorly optimized for PC, so even with powerful rigs, it still has some problems... -

Remember the frame rate is CAPPED at 30fps. Whether you have a $500 buck pc or a $5000 monster pc. 30fps.
Yes, I am serious... 30fps.

LMAO apparently a horrible console port to pc is the culprit ill be trying all this out later i will post results
Problem #1: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC ( SU2) crash: crashes during loading / freezes when trying to load game
Possible Solution #1:
Uninstall Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 PC and proceed to uninstall all anti-virus programs and disable your firewall. After all these is done, reinstall the game
Possible Solution #2:
For Windows 7 users, install all related updates to your OS that would improve application compatibility
Possible Solution #3:
For Windows Vista users, uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 may keep your game from crashing and improve overall performance
Problem #2: Can’t play Star Wars: The force Unleashed 2 PC due to a graphics glitch causing distorted and corrupted images
Possible Solution #1: (by mdiokwe)
For ATI video card users, go to the Catalyst Control Center and enable Application Control Settings for SMOOTHVISION: Anti-Aliasing and SMOOTHVISION: Anisotropic Filtering. This may fix your SU2 graphics bug but may also result to unwanted crashes. If this happens, enable tripple buffering in the OpenGL settings.
Problem #3: Enabling V-Sync causes stuttering and lower performance when playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC ( SU2 )
Possible Solution #1:
Turn on tripple buffering, which may improve performance of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2
Problem #4: Encounter Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC ( SU2 ) video / cut-scene issues and problems, in-game cinematics only show eyes and hair or is very choppy / keeps stuttering every few seconds
Possible Solution #1:
Lower the resolution to anything other than your video card’s native resolution
Possible Solution #2:
Play the game in windowed mode
Possible Solution #3:
If you’re an ATI video card user, disable Catalyst A.I. in the Catalyst Control Center
Possible Solution #4:
Turn off V-Sync and enable triple buffering
Possible Solution #5:
For NVIDIA video card users, turn off NVIDIA 3D Vision as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC does not support this feature
Problem #5: Experience low performance and a drop in framerate / PC runs slow when using the light saber in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC
Possible Solution #1:
A developer has mentioned that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 does not support over-clocking so resetting your PC to the default settings may improve performance
Possible Solution #2:
Disable all unnecessary programs as well as your anti-virus softwares to free up system resources
Problem #6: Keyboard and mouse aren’t responding / working / can’t move or control character when running Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 ( SU2 )
Possible Solution #1:
Make sure you don’t have any gamepads or any other third-party controllers connected to your PC
Possible Solution #2:
Disable the HD-Compliant Game Controller, which is located in the Human Interface Devices (HID) in your control panel or device manager
Problem #7: Can’t view / watch any of the videos in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC ( SU2 ) / black screen appears when cinematics appear
Possible Solution #1:
Installing Windows Multimedia Player 11 may fix this black screen issue
Problem #8: Unable to progress / stuck on The Salvation level where you have to disable the fusion accelerator cannons in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC ( SU2 )
Possible Solution #1:
Restart from the very beginning of The Salvation level
Possible Solution #2:
Do not die after reaching the first cannon
Possible Solution #3: (Thanks to Flames)
Restart the level. Now EVERY TIME you use a battery during the whole level, check around in the room before you use it in the door in front of you. Theres actually a room, mid-way from getting to the problematic canosn room where there’s 1 door you need to open and 2 batteries.
You simple have to use the first battery for the door and bring the second with you along during the rest of the level, until you reach the canon issue. Then you’ll have one spare to use once there =)
Problem #9: How to increase the Framerate ( FPS ) limit from 30fps to 60fps in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC
Solution #1:
jakfuste, from the Rage3D forum, has developed a loader that increases the fps cap to 60. You can download the file here then copy it to the game folder. If 60fps isn’t enough, you can download this file that will further increase the fps cap to 61fps
And according to Toni who posted on the comment section below, using this file has fixed his black screen error.
Problem #10: How to unlock the DLC content of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC
Solution #1: (thanks to Leito360!)
- Install winrar
- associate the .xml files to notepad or notepad++
- open the levelpacks folder in the game directory
- associate the .lp files to winrar or change the file extension to .rar
- access the pak2.lp file and navigate to this address : \Game\Disc\Runtime
- Inside the runtime folder, locate these three files:
TFU2CostumeCatalog.costumecat.xml
TFU2SaberCrystals.sabercrystal.xml
TFU2Flow.Gameflow.xml
- Open all three of them with your notepad.
Almost at the end of each file you will find the following line or a line very similar to the following:
(It’s 6 lines above before the end of the file)
You must delete it.
Finally, save the three files. Once done, go to the winrar window where you open pak2.lp, you will find three messages saying that the three XML files you open have changed and it will ask you if you want to update the file, click “Yes” in each message box, wait a couple of minutes to the file to update.
Once done, play the game.
It’s a good idea to make a back up of pak2.lp
Possible Solution #2:
To unlock the challenges, costumes and crystals, download these xml files and add them to pak2.lp using winrar in the folder Game\Disc\Runtime
Problem #10: Encounter black screen error when trying to launch or while playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 PC
Possible Solution #1: (thanks to Deidera)
I fixed black screen
Game in defoultu run in which the resolution of the monitor does not support them.
You can manually set the file resolution:
C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\LucasArts\Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2
open file (in wordpad): Config.xml
at the end of code set resolution your monitor, for example
768
60
1360
