I'm trying to watch a tv show off a site with a divx player streaming the avi file.
It works fine on my desktop and the laptop, but when I hook the laptop up through hdmi and switch over to it for display everything works fine but the video screen is black and I only get sound. I can still see the browser and surround window, but not the video.

    Any ideas?

Just the video is black or you cant see your laptop screen at all (no desktop)

Is that with one or two monitors running at the same time?

I had this issue with windows media center, you can only play videos on your primary monitor. Something to do with copyright/ protection etc. Just set your tv as your primary monitor and that should fix it. Let me know if it works!

ALL streaming videos don't work for you? Try plugging the laptop into the TV before starting the stream. There might be something going on when you switch over to the TV display while mid-stream.

Yeah if its just the video, you probably have a HDCP issue.
