Forget playing any online game with 3G.... It's barely enough to browse, and painfully slow.

You can get one in any GSM carrier.

actually, it depends on the provider i suppose... with the external dongle few years back i would get up to 3mb/s download and it would be stable enough to play online games quite well. I think it was T-mobile one. UK btw.

Also, before getting a 3g plan, ask to test it out for a few days to see if the coverage is ok etc.

You need to buy a wwan card and the antennas for it. Then you need to install the antenna (they are in the screen)

WoW does not use much bandwidth so mobile connections can be okay. I doubt however that it would be usable on the train for any online game.

I have played WoW using Vodafone (UK) but not while on a moving train. :D

I used to have a netbook with Verizon and the 3G was fast enough to play Guild Wars with a ping of 300 (not too great, but playable...sort of)

like everyone says, 3G is not really that great for gaming. What I would do instead... get yourself a 3G/4G android on Sprint (or one of the carriers that still offers unlimited data) and get yourself a free app called PDAnet. This will basically let you tether your phone to your laptop, and you can game all you want.

I have played battlefield 2 while tethered to a iphone, so while it is possible to game on 3g, it just may not be the best. But you can use it to play games that have a DRM.

respectfully, i think you are generalizing 3G. not all providers are created equally, it can depend on where you are geographically, and also on what time of day it is.

speeds can range from ~5-6 Mbps to only 0.5-1 Mbps depending on all of those things. 5 Mbps is pretty fast, and i've played BFBC2 with a ping of ~150 and had zero issues.
