The M11 is not nearly powerful enough to make 3D worthwhile unless you plan to run games at low resolution at low detail settings.
-
A nice 2d Full-HD monitor connected via the HDMI port works wonderfully though and is, therefore, highly recommended.
-
if you are using a 120Hz 3D Vision Monitor (not a HDTV), then it will not work. I know, since I have tried time and time again from my m11xR2.
If it is a "120Hz" or "240Hz" 3D HTDV, then it *might* work. I haven't cared to check since I got my GTX570. -
wow thanks a lot for your help guys
you saved me some $$.. just a side question is 3d worth it for gaming? i mean what do you guys think? (heard that black ops is 3d compatible). thanks again

3D worth it for gaming?
I think the question answers itself. Although I'm one of the rare people that gets headaches from 3D, but if you don't, you should go for it. Something like this should work...
Newegg.ca - Acer GD235HZbid Black/orange 23.6" 2ms(GTG) Widescreen 1080p 120Hz 3D-Ready LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 80000:1
By the way, even if a monitor has only DVI (and the M11x has only HDMI) there are cables avalible that has one end DVI and the other HDMI.. or even adapters -
can the GT 335M even support stereoscopic 3d rendering?
-
I think the HDMI port on the m11x doesn't even support HDMI 1.4 for 3d viewing on a 3d external monitor
And the GTX 460m card in G73/G53JW-3d are struggling to play 3d games so i'm sure the gt 335m will not be able to handle it -
The m11x can do 3d bluray, but can NOT do 3d gaming. I would go and buy the 3d monitor to be ready for when the m11x can do 3d (please r3 support 3d!!)

can the m11x do 3d gaming though, just not very well?
does it need a cord other hdmi?
i recently purchased the m11x r2, the aw 2310 3d monitor, and nvidia glasses?
what else do i need?
does hdmi work? -
also, i got an external bluray drive...
so i can watch in 3d right? -
did you managed to get 3d vision working.
-
No, you need HDMI 1.4, also, the M11X would play DOOM 1 in 3D at 12FPS. I highly do not recommend it unless you would like 3D movies. Get yourself a bigge rmachine with tri crossfirex'ed 6990, then play 3D at 80FPS max
which 3d monitor to get for m11x?
