I was able to get 950/1350 on 1v to be stable. I can get 1000/1400 at 1v and it will get through 3dmark11 but it will blue screen after 20 mins or so. Not too bad right?

That's awesome! I would try that eventually but my card at it's current config is plenty fast for me right now. I don't even have the 1080p screen yet. I want the card to stretch it's legs before i give it steroids. What are the temps at that clock/voltage?

Heavy load sees 76c max.

Just wow! I need 1.05v to reach 950 stable in games! You can do it on 1v. No doubt you can easily run 975/1400!! A 1.025v should get you comfortably to 1000/1500. Although you would have to test the VRAM carefully. 1500 is pushing it hard.
Iam severely jealous right now!!

Hey Eepo, would it be possible for you to send me a vBios that runs voltage @ 1.0v? I want to be able to test 950/1350 later on my 8970M. See how much of a temp and performance impact I will encounter. Thanks!
King, you can always sell your 7950M and get an 8970M
Imagine if you had your crazy cooling mod with an 8970M....you can probably push it to 1000 or 1050/1400-1450!

Nope. I wait for tonga

From what I've read Tonga won't be much of a performance boost and if it is the dies would have to be huge as its still 28nm. It will however be more efficient and run cooler.
No point upgrading imo until 20nm and sizable performance gains with lower power consumption.
I don't get too excited about overclocking my 7970m anymore because it doesn't always translate into tangible gaming performance boosts and can lead to instability. Benchmarks are just for fun. -
