I recommend you get an antistatic mat with wristband (they are cheap) so that you dont accidentally fry any of your electronics, since you have a carpet, etc...

How about switching the keyboard with the M15x. That way you will have less cables on the table, and they will be hidden. You could also mod that keyboard holder to carry 2 fans. I have something similar but I built the keyboard holder myself

And always wear rubber soled shoes..... good friend shorted his MSI 1722 and I stopped by to take a looksy while he had it apart, and there he is sitting there in sweats, SOCKS (no shoes), and nice, thick shag rug in the wintertime, no AS mat or wrist guard with enough dust to choke a donkey.....

 

I didn't use a splitter, one monitor is hooked up via VGA, and the other VIA DP.

That's a great idea, and i was thinking about doing that, but this is only my temporary desk, as I will be moving to a bigger house, with a bigger desk in about a week.

Oh yeah, rolling rock is a must while gaming.

 

Well, since everyone is posting the habitat of their M15x, Ill post mine as well.

The only thing which I dont like on my desk is the cable of the keyboard. I would use a wireless keyboard, but I could not find any with backlight keys. I really good used to these. I was thinking on getting something like a cable reel which automatically sucks the cable so that it is always straightened. Something like vacuum cleansers have. Does anyone know of a product like that?

Ahah looks clean, I spent 2 hours cleaning the room before taking pictures.
at that moment I have hard time typing because I keep hitting the screwdrivers, books, empty bottles, cables and other random stuff!
The monitor is 21.5", I wanted a 23" but I'm glad I got this one (The 23" would have been LCD), 21.5" is more than big enough and the contrast on this monitor is awesome!
Oh and yeah, why don't you post a picture of your set-up? I'm curious

I definitely like the black better than grey...but...but...but...why am I half considering red?

I should NOT be debating getting red on a $2500 notebook, but I am :lol:

 

Honestly, if I could go back i'd probably have gotten the black or red. Mostly wanted to get another color so mine would look different from my wife's.

 

Ugh...I keep thinking "I'm using this at work! (It'll be my main work computer) I don't want to draw attention to myself!" And then I think "but...it's red! that's nifty!"

Geez I'm indecisive-can't pick a color, can't pick a CPU 'cause of throttling paranoia! (I'd probably be better off had I never read this forum LOL)

 

For what it's worth, I got both of those laptops from the outlet for approx $2400 combined. Spec wise they're fairly similiar with 1920x1080 screens, i7-740 processors, 6GB & 8GB of ram, 250 & 640gb hd's, a 5850 and GX240m. Buy one black and one red!

 

Wow, nice prices! Yeah, I'll be getting basically the same hardware for the same price...except only one of them.
