Just (re)updated to Win 8.1, and the big question shows up again :

    Which Drivers Do I Need?

Dell download page ( http://www.dell.com/support/home/it/it/itdhs1/product-support/product/alienware-m15x/drivers), apart from being quite awful and trying to make me install Dell software every 3 seconds, have tons of drivers, and I guess installing them all isn't just a good idea. Plus, drivers are for Win7, so while having them all on Win7 might just have been a little slowing, but not that bad, on Win8.1 I feel like it may give some issues.

    This far, here's my list

    - Alienware OSD Application, v.1.13, A05
    - Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver, v.1.1.1.1007, A00
    - Alienware Command Center, v.2.5.54.0, A07
    - Dell DataSafe Local Patch/Upgrade
    - IDT 92HD83 Audio, v.6.10.0.6241, A01
    - Alienware M15x System BIOS, A09
    - Intel Ibex Peak PCH Chipset, v.9.1.1.1014, A00
    - Ricoh R5C833, v.3.57.01, A00
    - Dell S2230MX Monitor Driver
    - Dell ST2220T Touch Monitor Driver
    -Synaptics Synaptics TouchPad, v.15.0.15.0, A04
    - ITE IT8512 CIR Receiver, v.5.0.4.7(Vista) and 5.1.0.1(Win7 ), A00
    - Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 Half MiniCard, v.5.60.48.35, A04
    - Intel Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300, Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100, v.tic TRWFW0986D , A01
    - Broadcom AW1397 WLAN, v.5.30.21.0 , A02
    - Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard, v.6.2.0.9603, A02-1
    - Intel 825xx Gigabit Platform LAN Network Device, v.10.7.31.0(Vista)/11.0.41.0(Win7) , A00
    - Seagate Momentus 2.5",SATA,3Gb/s,7200,512e Firmware Update
    - Seagate ST95005620AS Firmware Update
    - Intel Intel Rapid Storage Technology, v.9.6.0.1014, A00
    - Samsung PM800 256GB/128GB/64GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD Firmware Update
    - ST Microelectronics DE351DL Free Fall Sensor, v.1.06.08.33, A01
    - Intel Matrix Storage Manager - Notebooks, v.8.9.0.1023, A00
    - TSST TS-T633C 12.7mm Slotload 8x DVDRW, v.D900, A08
    - HLDS CA 10N 12.7mm SATA Slotload 4X BD-Combo Firmware Update

Which is basically almost ALL of them (I didn't pick the video drivers because I already downloaded them fron Nvidia)

A little voice in my head keeps saying "hey that's a bunch load of trash, yo don't need them all!", and thus I'm reporting here for duty.

Any hint? Anyone already on 8.1 with some tricks to share? Anyone that actually does know what these things are (Dell isn't much explicative)?

Thanks for reading, good day ^^
