    Keyboard lights doesn't work

    Long story short I bought an m15x with 230usd but the lights from power button, monitor and the keyboard doesn't work.
    The rest like the Alienware's logo behind the screen works perfectly and the touchpad
    I'm not sure that this is because the faulty cable or because the silabs chip problem

    silab chip firmware corrupt, no way to fix without remove and resolder. better to buy a new board, relatively cheap.

    The problem is if it was silabs problem then all the lights would not work at all while the lights can be seen to be working except the power button, keyboard and the Alienware writing on the monitor, i can't afford a new board due Alienware doesnt have distributor in my country.

    Likely an uplugged ribbon cable? Did you buy the laptop knowing it was "broken"?

    It was third hand laptop, the second owner seems have been told that the lights started malfunctioning after the first owner upgrading the os

    I have spare working motherboard and silabs programmer for the motherboard, let me know if you would like to purchase. I got out of the M15x scene, no longer need these.
