Hello everyone I have been a part of this special community for over 5 years now but I feel the time has now come to say goodbye.
I have no time now to spend messing with laptops and the hobby doesn't work well with family. I might still pop In Occasionally but this is pretty much it. Thank you for all the advice and conversation over the years.
Goodbye

Well I may have been a bit premature, I have some personal issues to sort out and will certainly will be making a much smaller presence here.
For now I am keeping the m15x but again it will see much less use than In the past.
Change has come!

King of Interns! It has been great pleasure to see guys like you on this forum helping us ancient M15x owners get the best out of our laptop. Without you, I wouldn't of been able to get this far with my M15x and I would still be stuck with my original GTX 460M & i7 740QM with 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD! People like you on this forum made me upgrade my laptop to the specs that are in my sig and I can't thank you enough for all the help you have provided to this community.
I am also soon going to be getting rid of my beloved M15x for a AW17 later this year or next year as it is time for me to move on in terms of generation, but I will still always know the M15x forum as my original beloved home and community and will always help out other users for advice on things like upgrading which I have done in the past which was passed down from people like you! Thank you and I hope to see you sometime to time still on this forum!King of Interns and mrigankp like this. -

Thanks guys!!
Don't worry I won't abandon you. I just need to cut down on the amount of time I spend on my M15x. I got a bit carried away recently and had a wakeup call. Please don't sell up yet Trickster! Maxwell and Tonga can surely extend the life of the M15x further.
Besides The 920xm overvolted seems to run very stable indeed.TricksterMatt and chopsy like this. -

Don't worry, I won't sell my M15x ever! It is my first ever laptop and considering I got this almost 4 years ago it has lasted me from then up until now running every single game I have tried all on high settings without a hitch! And I think you are correct with the Maxwell and Tonga! It will be even more energy efficient and even more powerful. Combine that with our *still* powerful 920/940XM with OC and our pin modded PSU/Adapters, we will still be laughing at other higher new generation laptops for possibly even more years to come!
Our machine is still capable of delivering ridiculous amounts of power even though it is such an old beast. The build quality and the cooling on this laptop is crazy and the amount of upgrades and modifications you can do to it is just awesome! Whenever our laptops get to that stage of not being able to keep up anymore I will put my laptop in a glass container like an ancient artifact
haha!

Amazing really at 3.73ghz video encoding temps more or less leveled off at 98C after 5 mins. This in ambient temperature of 25C!!
Of course this is not something I consider stable yet. 95C is a goal I have set. However it is already achieved once the ambient temp drops again in the autumn.
Everyone should do this mod and enjoy the performance boost! As for power saving use throttlestop to run 1ghz if you want to run without external fans on battery or away from home.
With external fans inaudibly idling the cpu temp is 38-40C in 25C ambient. Not bad for 3.73(28x) - 3.99ghz(30x) 920xm!
Ancient artifact; not yet!
Space heater; likely

Noooooooo! This is diabolically bad news! I'd still be lumping along with inadequate cooling and a pile of garbage GTX 460M without all those insightful messages and posts.
You've really taught me a lot and you are still the original creator of the KoI cooling mod and the PSU pin mod, which are two of the most important M15x mods there are imo.
Certainly done a lot for this community. Hopefully you'll find time to swing by occasionally.
All the best -
Take care old friend... it has really been awhile.
I have just retired my M15X few months back after a 4 years run as a workhorse. I can say I am damn proud of it. =)
Do keep in touch with the M15X forum and users!

I echo what everyone else has said. I completely understand where your coming from as I've spent less time on my system lately. And only been on it really for work related things. Im spending more time with my family and less time here. I check in from time to time from work. So hopefully I can be here more. But when I go home I'm not on too much. Hope to see you around bud!Mexic00ls likes this. -
