Well, go over to the clevo section.

The 5870 has been available for a while for the W8x0 series laptops.

    Performance should be very similar.

I can tell you the answer :D

    3DMark06 = Asus G73
    Vantage Total = Asus G73
    Vantage GPU = "M15xR2"

That's how it is with the Clevo systems so I expect them to be similar although the driver used will make the difference.

But we all know those are uglier ;)

And there is at least some overclockability in the M15x bios (even if it is just memory lol)

Best idea is Stress the system useing Furmark and such and high end games and monitor the temps. Check to see how the cooling is. I just dont want tons of people buying the 5870 and expecting it to work.

Now the question is 4870 and 5870 crossfire in the same location. So we can do this with a M17x r1 or M17x r2? I also think it will require a bios upgrade.

    But good work.

I'd guaranty it will not even come close in 3DMark06. The challenge would be with Vantage GPU.

Comparing a 17 inch asus with a 15 inch alien isn't really fair is it? I mean I've seen these 2 PC's next to one another. It's not even close.

Same hardware, though the clevo 5870 runs better than the asus-made 5870.

Doesn't mean it will in the M15x. Too many variables. Get some benchmarks done to find out.

True, but which heatsink comes with these cards (W860 or W870)?

The heatsink on the W860 is similar to the M15x while the W870's is quite beefier.

Well, I would rather not buy from eurocomm (if it is them) but at that price and it says they have 9 available.

If hemi can't get more I might bite. The listing is very specific so I doubt it is a bait-and-switch either.

Aren't you the slightest bit curious why the ATI cards are so much more reasonable then the Nvidia cards? look at their listings for those.

Just through them an offer. It does give you that option. SO you can get it cheaper than $390.00 and babyhemi charges ..what ?...$469.00 right? The price is good.... If I had a m15x, It would have changed to a m15x-R2. :)

The last sentence tells us the heatsink is not included:

Picture simply represents the card for sale and is not the actual card. Sale does not include heatsink and is for the Video card only. If other parts are requirted, please enquire.

I reckon you can buy it there as well if needed.

It's gone up to about 90c with stress testing, mid 80s with gaming (BC2 & SF4). Only benchmark I ran is Heaven 2.0 & Furmark link, see M15x benchmarking thread.

Yes, some pads from the original 260m setup "sandwiched" with pads that came with the 5870.

    TDP does not = power.

However, I do believe the 5870 is less power-hungry than the 260.

I hope hemi gets more as I didn't purchase one from ebay before they sold out.
