I think that it depends on what version your current bios is i think, you can try it. It wont damage anything, and it should update it without any problems

I still have throttling with the 720QM since installing the A08 bios.
-
Any idea when A09 is coming out, or what it is going to consist of?

I still have the throttling issue with my 720QM and GTX 260M.
Any other way of fixing it? -
Can you post a GPU-Z log file?
Did you try the fixes from this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/439546-aw-m15x-throttling-issue-investigation-stock-clocks-overclocked.html
As far as I know in this thread it's suggested to use rivatuner, maybe better use a different OC tool as riva tuner is outdated as far as I know. -
A09 is now available.
Removing thread from sticky status. Link to this thread will be in A09.

Im having throttling issues with my M15X, after about 15 mins of playing anygame, the cpu throttles down, and makes the game run very slowly, does using "throttle stop" stop this from happening, i have the I7 720 so its not the extreme model. And if so will mthis cause temps to go to extreme high levels above 90. ny help appreciated.

Why don't you try BIOS A09, and do all over again?
