Yes. the Catalyst Software Suite includes both CCC and the display drivers. As always, it's a two step process. First download the file at the link supplied by Lacey in Post #2. That file is only a downloader utility. Then double-click on that file to install and launch the utility, which will initiate the Suite download (about 93MB). Double click that file to unpack and install the new drivers and CCC.

Anyone tried benchmarking with the new drivers?

Where is the Morphological AA support?
Installed 11.2, but no MAA -

These drivers appear to be nearly identical to the Catalyst 11.1a Hotfix set, which were the best AMD drivers to date for most people and the best since the 10.10e Hotfix set. These 11.2's resulted in a 2 point increase in 3dMark11 at the same clocks for me, but I had to flash the card to hold 900/1100 settings. Using Overdrive, I would experience driver crashes somewhere between 850 and 875 core, both with 1100 memory, i.e., 850 runs, 875 crashes. With the 11.1a Hotfix drivers, I could set all the way to 900/1100 with Overdrive and only then had to flash to go farther. Have to see whether this resistance to driver based o/c's continues or was a reaction to some other setting or background program or process or maybe even ambient temps. 3dMark06 seems to perform the same, but I didn't spend much time with it. I have not run Vantage yet, but need to since the Release Notes indicate that the program may hang at the end for some users. Otherwise, these look good from a stability and look-and-feel perspective on my M15x.
MLAA, new AI/Texture Filtering Quality and Surface Format Optimization are hidden for most mobility users, but can be turned on by registry hacks described in the thread referred to by StevenX in the opening post (see http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...bile-catalyst-11-2-released.html#post7162184). I tried them, and they work (ignore the EQAA related changes. those are for 6800-6900 cards only). Most people will have little or no use for these settings, but they're there if wanted.
3dMark11 Test: -
yup, best drivers to date for me.
with all prior drivers i kept rolling back to the 10.8's because of game glitches, performance issues.
havn't been benching for a while but in-game performance much smoother across the board. -

The first post method didn't work for me either. The method described later by the member from the Philippines was the magic ticket. However, I didn't copy the post and now the entire thread has disappeared. I wanted to apply the reg tweaks after reinstalling W7 yesterday and couldn't find it. If you locate the thread, post a link.

i got it thru uninstalling, then driver sweeper on ati display and finally installing 11.2
-
Hmm. Strange. I did exactly that and yet it doesn't have that tab.
-
same here, no overdrive :/
could it have anything to do if u got dell or not? -

One other item we discovered when Overdrive first became available in the mobility drivers was that the 5850m had to be at stock settings (625/1000/1.0v) while the drivers were being installed. There is a well developed thread about the 10.12 drivers where the Overdrive install process was discussed and various solutions discovered.

I get crashes with this driver. Oh well, back to the dell ones.

Al, those are the ones that were included in the initial post in the lost thread. They don't work for me either, but the changes sure felt familiar. As I recall, the ones in the later post that did work had more developed key designations. I wish I could remember the name of the poster (from the Philippines I'm pretty sure). I thought I had also copied that post, but can't find it. Thanks for the effort. +Rep.

Found a duplicate or similar post by lai090 (Philippines). Here's a revised version of the method that works (at least for me):
Open CCC, click on Information/Software and copy the 2d Driver Path to a notepad to determine which registry section to edit. For most it should be
/HKLM/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000
In regdit, go to /HKLM/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/000[X] (X denotes the 2d Driver File Path. In the right panel, locate and change the following (right click on each and select modify):
-Change MLF_NA from 1 to 0 (MLAA)
-Change SurfaceFormatReplacements_NA from 1 to 0 (Surface Format Optimizations)
-Change TFQ_NA from 1 to 0 (Mipmapping textures/AI)
This is the new part.
Then open up the UMD sub-key located at . . . . /{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/000[X]/UMD:
In the right panel:
-Right click, select new, select string value and enter MLF_DEF. Then right click on MLF_DEF and select modify. Enter 0.
-Right click, select new, select string value and enter: SurfaceFormatReplacements_DEF. Then right click on SurfaceFormatReplacement_DEF and select modify. Enter: 0
-Right click, select new, select string value and enter: TFQ_DEF. Then right click on TFQ_DEF and select modify. Enter: 1
Go to Start/Run and enter "mom.exe restart" (in lieu of a reboot to implement changes). The 3d Application Settings under CCC should now include the new options.
Here's what it looks like: ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting -
Thanks Revelator finally after hitting all kinds of walls i finally got it working thanks

I got overdrive by using driver sweeper to clean the ati display drivers; then I oc'd the card to 626/1000/1.0V (625/1000/1.0V didn't work) and installed the drivers and ccc again.

Glad you found a way. OD can be very handy.

Overdrive upped my voltage to 1.15 when i set the clocks to 800/1100; I'm not sure at what clock it ups the voltage though. My card could barely handle any clocks over 725/1050 with amd gpu clock tool and msi afterburner.
Now its perfectly stable at 800/1100 and relatively cool, thank you extra voltage -
-
This is how I got overdrive, hopefully it'll work for you
Uninstall ccc and use driver sweeper to delete ati display drivers, then reboot. Use amd gpu clock tool or msi afterburner and overclock to at least 626/1000/1.0V; then install the 11.2 drivers and ccc and you should have overdrive. -

Well, I was testing against Furmark. Just reporting the experience for what it's worth. May not apply with your card or your apps.

Do I need that newer VBIOS to install these? They don't want to install correctly.

Where can I download the latest driver for AMD High Definition Audio Device? It is for audio output via DisplayPort. Official direct link from AMD is preferred.
This driver is not contained in ATI Catalyst Mobility Display Driver. The version of the one I have now is 7.12.0.7700, 17/11/2010, courtesy of The Revelator's link.

After the update i lost the option to enable/disable the catayst A.I

Hello all...
It seems I'm in need of some help and I'd appreciate any advice you can offer. I read through the posts in this thread before uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and I'm having a problem with Overdrive not showing up in the new Catalyst Control Center.
A bit of background info...
I'm using a Windows 7 x64 system (M15x) and had previously tweaked my GPU (5850) VBIOS settings to reflect clock speeds of 750/1050 and a voltage of 1.05.
After reading the advice included in previous posts, I created a bootable USB drive and used ATIFlash to re-flash the original "stock" VBIOS settings back to the GPU. Once completed, I validated the settings with GPU-Z and they're currently at 625/1000 clock speeds. The voltage was also reduced back down to 0.9.
Once that was done, I uninstalled the previous driver (which I believe was 8.763?) via the "Express Uninstall" option and rebooted into Safe Mode. From there, I used Driver Sweeper to remove the remaining ATI Display files and then rebooted again (as required by Driver Sweeper).
Next, I installed the latest driver via the "Express Install" option and everything appeared to work perfectly. Device Manager now shows the driver version as 8.821 and I'm also able to open the new version of the Catalyst Control Center.
However, as I mentioned earlier, the "Performance" category is missing and, therefore, I cannot access the Overdrive feature to adjust the clock settings for my GPU.
Have I missed a key step somewhere along the way? Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?
On a final note, I noticed that Windows Device Manger now lists my Display Adapter as "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series" instead of using the actual version number of my GPU - 5850. I'm not sure if that's an indication of any driver installation problems or not. My assumption is that they just changed the way the adapter is named. Please let me know if I'm wrong.
I'm hoping one of you "experts" can get me headed in the right direction again...
Thanks in advance for your help.

***UPDATE***
---------------
It took a while, but I think I finally got it! I'm not really sure what the exact solution was - but I downloaded an updated version of Driver Sweeper and it appeared to clean a number of old files that were being missed by the previous version. In addition, I installed the updated driver to a new location (instead of using the same "default" location) to see if that might help (by also utilizing new registry entries). In the end, I'm now able to access the Overdrive feature in CCC and all is well - I think...
Thanks again. -

It looks like you're doing everything correctly. It was not clear to me whether you edited an existing vbios file back to stock settings (625/1000/1.0v) or were using a fresh, never modified A02 vbios downloaded from Dell ( Drivers and Downloads) before flashing to stock settings. For me, it required a brand new, virgin A02 vbios to get Overdrive installed. Once installed, later updates are much less sensitive. Seems silly, but that's what it took.
The trials and tribulations of getting Overdrive to work are pretty thoroughly explored here. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/540287-ati-10-12-reference-drivers.html. It can be frustrating, but it will eventually work, and it's awfully convenient. Good luck and patience.
Edit: the ATI reference drivers always identify the 5850m as a 5800 Series card; the Dell drivers identify it as a 5850m. Just a driver idiosyncrasy.
